I wondered if I should look into several clinics, but he is the most famous, and when I asked around, two people said they had surgery at SNU, so I didn't get exams at other clinics. I went for the eye exam, booked the surgery right away, and had it done that same week.
When you book the eye exam, they send precautions by KakaoTalk, like not wearing contact lenses for a few days, so the duration varies depending on the type of lenses you wear. Mine were soft lenses, so it was 3 days.
The eye exam took about 30 minutes, and the person doing the exam was very kind. They explained things here and there during the process, but I don't really know what it was. Anyway, after all the tests, they explained in the consultation room what my corneal thickness was like, what the shape was like, and what surgeries were possible. Fortunately, they said SMILE LASIK was possible, so I decided on SMILE.
On the day of surgery, when I went in, they briefly checked my vision and astigmatism again, and in the consultation room they explained the postoperative precautions and surgical method in detail, so I felt reassured and went in for surgery. As I had heard, the surgery really ended quickly and it didn't hurt. If you just look at the green light well, they take care of everything.
Right after surgery, it stings and feels sensitive to cold for about 3 hours, but once that passes, everything is really fine. The clinic also gave me an instruction sheet on how often to put in the eye drops, so as long as I just put in the drops regularly as instructed, there's nothing else I need to manage. On the day of surgery, my eyes hurt, so it was a bit hard to use my phone.
The day after surgery As soon as I woke up, my eyes were dry, so I started by pouring in artificial tears. I put in the morning medication and went to the clinic for my appointment. I was standing by the roadside to take a taxi, and the glare was still severe and things looked wavy, so I thought driving might be a bit difficult. Even though it's dry, it doesn't hurt or feel sensitive to cold, and when I put in the medication there is a slight stinging pain. I asked the doctor during the appointment, and they said this blurry feeling can last about 2-3 weeks. If you ask any questions, they answer them all.
It's only day 4, but the blurriness is gradually getting better. It's a bit dry, but I already had dry eye, so it's not uncomfortable. I also booked another checkup for one month later.
