Day 6 after epicanthoplasty and lateral canthoplasty - things to know about lateral canthoplasty

Yesterday I had the stitches removed from my epicanthoplasty. While the nurse was removing the epicanthoplasty stitches, she said they had opened the lateral canthoplasty a lot.. and that my eyes would get much bigger lol I felt good and the two of us kept chatting, so the epicanthoplasty stitches were removed without hurting at all, but when I got home and looked, maybe because I kept talking to her and she forgot, she hadn’t removed one stitch on the inner side of the epicanthoplasty eye-_-; I guess it’ll be okay to remove it together on Thursday when I get the lateral canthoplasty stitches removed.. A lot of people have messaged asking about photos, but even normally I bruise easily and the bruises don’t go away well (the bruise from falling on the stairs 3 weeks ago is still blue, so that says it all-_-;), and the bruising and redness are severe, so even if I try to upload photos, it looks scary and I can’t. I’ll definitely upload them on Thursday after getting the lateral canthoplasty stitches removed. Now that I’ve tried it, I’ll tell you a few things to know before getting lateral canthoplasty. People whose corneas are usually a bit weak, and people whose bleeding doesn’t stop easily, please be careful. For me, sometimes when I rub my eyes, the cornea swells up like a balloon. If the lateral canthoplasty is opened a lot, there will be that many stitches too, right? Since mine was opened a lot, the lateral canthoplasty stitches keep scratching my eyeball, so I’m having a hard time. It’s day 6 after surgery, but because of this swollen cornea I’m still doing warm/cold compresses. My friend looked and said this kind of thing is common when wearing contact lenses, but my eyesight is good, so this terrifying situation is a first for me;;; On top of the swelling, the redness is so severe that the whites of my eyes are barely visible, so I still can’t tell whether my eyes got bigger.. they’re bright red;;; If you get red eyes easily, bruise easily, or your eyeballs are weak... if you have a constitution(?) similar to mine, it seems like going to work after surgery would be difficult.. I’m resting at home. And lateral canthoplasty: the outer corners of the eyes definitely do go down, but just looking at it, I can’t tell that something is dramatically different compared with before. But when I look at photos of how I used to look-_-; it has changed a lot. When I take photos, I can clearly tell my eyes got longer and bigger. If double eyelid surgery changes the vertical shape of the eyes, think of lateral canthoplasty as only changing the horizontal width. Keep in mind that the eye shape almost doesn’t change. Lastly, not everyone can open 7 mm. It’s done to suit your own eye shape. You can feel the bone at the outer corner of the eye, right? Since the maximum is up to there, it seems the length that can be opened varies a lot by person. Just because the eyes are currently small doesn’t mean they can necessarily be opened a lot.. My eyes weren’t that small before either;; I think the front was opened 1-2 mm. The back seems to have been opened 5-7 mm. I didn’t ask how many mm;;; Yesterday I asked the nurse, “Was mine opened about 5 mm?” and she said, “Uh.. I think it’s more than that. The areas without eyelashes were all opened.” But when I got home and looked, omg;;; what about my eyelashes!!! If it’s opened too much-_-; it seems you may even need eyelash transplantation. Please know this too. Since one-third of my eyelid has no eyelashes, it’s funny but also awkward. Should I go around wearing false lashes.. Once it settles, I’m going to find out how much eyelash transplantation costs.
