Every hospital says something different. I currently have two layers of silicone, and I think I need septal reinforcement. One place says that if it’s sunken, they correct it by filling the area on top with cartilage, while another says they place autologous cartilage on the side like a support strut. In this case, they said they cut the entire cartilage structure and rebuild it, so I don’t know what’s right. Would filling on top of weak cartilage make it collapse even more? And I’m also burdened by the idea of completely creating a support strut by cutting the existing structure Would there be a foreign-body sensation?
