Nose Surgery Reviews

Vivid review from the day of autologous costal cartilage rhinoplasty!

I got a lot of help from this community too, so I’m writing this in case it helps someone who’s curious before surgery! haha This was my first surgery, and I had autologous costal cartilage, silicone, hump nose correction, and bulbous nose correction! First, in the morning I changed clothes (they gave me sanitary panties! Make sure you wear them with the front and back the right way.. I put them on roughly and had to take them off and put them on again haha) Then I went back into the consultation room, signed the surgical consent form, had a consultation, and went into the operating room! The operating room was a little cold! (I get cold easily) Once you go in, they give you an injection around your wrist, check your pulse, ask how much you can drink.. The nurses do the basic prep for you! Then the doctor comes in, draws markings with a pen on your nose and on the area where the rib cartilage will be taken (the nurse held my breast), and once you lie down, disinfection starts! (They covered my nipples really well..!!) The disinfectant.. was cold.. Then they said, “You’re going to feel sleepy now!” and I got groggy, then woke up because it was over!! haha The surgery took about 6-7 hours including prep maybe..? I’m not sure because I was asleep haha After it ended, I was a little dizzy, but I had no problem changing clothes and leaving. They said I could rest, but I was hungry so I left.. I wondered if it was okay to wear a seatbelt after having autologous costal cartilage harvested, but they put a splint on me, and it wasn’t in the path where the seatbelt passes, so it was fine! It’s been 3 hours since I got home, and for the autologous costal cartilage pain, if I sit without straining, it feels like there’s none at all! I think it would hurt if I strained a lot or laughed hard, but if I laugh a little or use some strength when getting up, it’s just a stiff soreness!! I was worried, so I’m relieved (I’m usually not very sensitive to pain) (I’ve had a Mammotome procedure before, and this feels stiffer than that) My nose hurts...? It’s about that level.. (You know that kind of thing where if you don’t pay attention you don’t notice it, but if you wonder, “Am I in pain..?” then you’re like, oh, it’s throbbing!!) + When I slightly lifted my head to see which floor the elevator was on, it throbbed.. !Never lift your head! When I woke up, my throat was stinging, so I kept drinking water and it got better! It does sting, but maybe because it’s still the day of surgery, it’s okay! It’s about one-eighth of the stinging I had when I got COVID or influenza A..! (I was thirsty so I also drank iced plum tea, but maybe because it’s acidic, my throat stung when it went down.. Wouldn’t recommend) When I got home, I was hungry, so I ate abalone intestine porridge with jokbo cut thinly! Jokbal.. the collagen is tough, so it wasn’t that great, but bossam was okay haha I’ve never slept with my nose blocked before, but today.. I probably won’t be able to sleep, right?.. Right now I’m sitting in a massage chair I’m going to binge Netflix or play Teamfight Tactics.. haha.. I hope everyone gets good results!!♡ If you leave any questions in the comments, I’ll reply!♡
