I finally got to post my surgery review here ㅠㅅㅠ After waiting for over 5 years.... I feel like tears of emotion are about to flow Surgery date: March 5, 2010 (the historic day of my life) Implants: Allergan - 260/260cc (I wanted B-cup size) Height: 174 cm Weight: 51 kg Occupation: Model I’ll try to write this in detail by day ^^ This was a review I didn’t even know if I’d ever be able to write after 5 long years, so I don’t have much writing talent, but I’ll do my best to tap away at the keyboard First, to start with how I looked into hospitals Since I had been thinking about surgery for such a long time, I really consulted and talked with pretty much every breast surgery clinic in Korea Some places had a manager or director with such terrible manners that I ended up bowing and scraping out of embarrassment, waiting 30 minutes only to finish the consultation in 10 minutes total; some places had directors who made me feel so awkward when I had to take my top off; and some places had managers or directors who were really warm and welcoming... Anyway, I really went everywhere, but this place was honestly somewhere I went because of an acquaintance’s recommendation, and even after looking at the website and materials I couldn’t find much, so I went thinking I’d just stop by for a bit out of courtesy for the introduction (actually, at that time I had narrowed it down to two places) But when I first walked in, the manager responded in such a gentle, friendly way. So I thought, at least this place has manners. She was very kind and explained things in great detail, so I even thought maybe I wouldn’t need a consultation with the doctor 'ㅁ' I had the consultation with the doctor right away after about 10 minutes, and by then I had already taken my clothes off so many times that I wasn’t even nervous anymore lol~ (though I was still a little nervous) I went in with no real expectations, but the consultation was very thorough. Above all, I could comfortably ask anything I was curious about, so it was a really easy consultation And the reason I was completely sold was that during the consultation they said they perform surgery with sincerity, so if I trusted them without worry even after the operation, I could get a result worth that trust After the consultation, I came out, talked about the cost again with the manager, and just booked the surgery right away. Since I had been to so many consultations until then, I could roughly calculate the situation after about 5 minutes, and honestly, even though this place had less name recognition than the ones I had marked down, I got the feeling that it would solve my 5-year worry best here, so I just... (This must have been around February 23. Hmm... right, February 23) After booking the surgery and coming home, about two days later I started wondering if I had really made the right decision It goes without saying how important this breast surgery was to me.. But back in school, when I always wrote an answer first and then corrected it at the very end, it usually turned out right. Something like a hunch So until 3 days before surgery I kept worrying, then decided to trust my feeling (whatever, let’s just go!) The day of surgery (March 5) When the actual surgery day came, I was so nervous ㅎㄷㄷ;; I had fasted the day before too, but because this was the day I was finally resolving a lifelong regret, I was even more nervous than for the college entrance exam or an important audition My surgery was at 10, but I was 20 minutes late because of traffic, and when I arrived, all the prep was already done (phew, no time even to prepare myself mentally 'ㅂ';;;;) I hurriedly had one more consultation with the doctor and did the design, and I was tense the whole time; When I went into the operating room and lay on the operating table, the anesthesiologist spoke to me in a low voice to reassure me It seemed obvious that my nervousness was visible to others too I was also really grateful that the manager kept talking to me beside me, saying this and that to help take away my tension and fear After being told, “You’ll just sleep for a bit and wake up with the surgery over,” my consciousness seemed to vanish in about 3 seconds? 0_0 0_O O_0 When I came to, I was lying on a bed in the recovery room Before surgery I had worried a lot because many people said that when they woke up after surgery they felt nauseous and were out of it from pain, but well... I had no nausea or anything like that at all, and there was pain, but not long after I used the pain-control kit, the pain was almost fine... (I'm saying this now, but at the time I was actually seriously worried that maybe the surgery hadn’t been done properly.... Of course, I had seen posts saying some people were eating at the hospital and wandering around just two hours after surgery, but there weren’t that many, so I had mentally prepared myself; yet my condition was so good compared to what I expected that I started thinking that instead.. haha. This is what people mean when they say you give someone good treatment and they still complain) After a while, the doctor came and said that they had put in 260cc to match the size I wanted, and that the surgery went really well Later I asked and found out the surgery took less than an hour? The doctor really is amazing at surgery! As expected, my instinct was a guaranteed win lolololol Around 3 o’clock or so, I was discharged and got a ride home in a friend’s car Lying in bed... ah, I really felt relief? like I had finally gotten something huge done? Anyway, I felt really satisfied and at ease inside I was all mixed up emotionally, so I spent the whole night feeling dazed and confused I slept that day leaning slightly back with pillows stacked behind me Still, since big surgery is big surgery, there was a little pain when I moved here and there in the middle Day 1 (March 6) The next day came When I opened my eyes in the morning, I felt the pressure in my chest and thought, ah, this isn’t a dream I must have had some kind of dream that day, but anyway I don’t think it was a very good one After a light breakfast and a bit of TV, I went to the hospital in the afternoon to have the blood drainage pouch removed When they removed it, they took off the bandage, and that was the most nerve-racking moment ever! What would my changed breasts be like, thump thump thump Ah!!..................... This is the breast I’ve wanted and waited 5 years for I was completely overwhelmed with emotion, and ah... I really can’t put that feeling into words.. But my joy was short-lived because removing the blood drainage pouch hurt After pulling out the blood pouch and fitting the compression garment, I went home~~ The compression garment has to be worn for two months, and I was strongly told to wear it properly so the shape would recover beautifully! When I got home, I did the laundry and cleaning I had been putting off It had only been a day since surgery, but moving around like that wasn’t a big problem On the first day I absolutely couldn’t get up by myself, but after that I could lie down and get up on my own Now and then I had a sharp twinge! of pain in my arms or chest, but it wasn’t really painful ~ mondainai~~ I really knew breast surgery was a major operation, but compared with that, recovery was so fast that in some ways it even felt easier than double-eyelid surgery 음음 Day 3 (March 7) Finally, 3 days after surgery, I washed my hair! I still couldn’t really raise my arms, but it was okay enough to move my hands, so I crouched down and washed my hair by bending my head as far down as possible on my own My arms felt a little tight though Day 4 (March 8) Wearing the compression garment felt nice because it was snug and held my breasts firmly in place I could put on clothes by myself too, but since the underarm incision needs to heal well, I tried to minimize using my arms as much as possible, as much as possible Day 5 (March 9) From the 5th day on, staying home all the time was too boring, so I called a friend and went to see a late-night movie together We went to see a horror movie, but I’m not good at horror movies and I scream a lot.. But since I was screaming, I used way too much strength in my arms, so it was hard to watch the movie So for a while I’m not going to watch horror movies~~ When I went outside and walked a little, I clearly felt how much heavier my chest had become. Thinking that this heaviness would become my confidence in the future made the feeling of it existing so reassuring and good! Day 6 (March 10) On day 6 I drove Parking took longer than usual, of course~ I still couldn’t freely use my arms, so driving wasn’t easy, but I moved the steering wheel carefully I also took the subway and worked and everything, and it really wasn’t a problem at all Only when I woke up did I feel the heaviness in my chest, and as long as I didn’t use strength in my arms at all, it didn’t hurt at all ~ Day 7 (March 11) Finally today I went to the hospital to have the stitches removed I was very scared that stitch removal would hurt, but it didn’t hurt at all Actually, it felt refreshing The waterproof bandage had been bothering me all the time Then I went into the massage room and the manager gave me my first massage The doctor, the nurses, and the manager all said that the packing in my right breast was circulating well and that because the pocket was roomy it looked very natural, but the left breast was a bit hard, so I needed to loosen it well for both sides to look natural The first massage! The terrifying gate of fear that everyone getting breast surgery fears most! I was really insanely tense, but huh? It didn’t hurt as much as I expected Just to a tolerable degree! Maybe it was because I had too high an expectation(!).. When I looked at other people’s posts, some said they screamed like they were giving birth, and some said they thought they were saying goodbye to the bright world, haha; It was like that on the day of surgery too, but I still don’t know whether it’s because I have a good constitution or because of the hospital’s skill I remember seeing a plastic surgery blog post somewhere saying that if massage hurts, it’s because the dissection wasn’t done properly (?) Honestly, I had thought that was nonsense (then did that mean all the plastic surgery doctors in Korea until now were all amateurs?) but when that thought suddenly came to me, I felt even more proud of this outstanding! intuitive! choice of mine lol They told me to do it four times a day for 20 minutes each time, so I’m going to burn this body into the massage too Right now my condition is the same as before surgery~ In terms of activity, that is~ Lastly, breast surgery! What you imagine and reality are really different. In your mind it seems like it will be very hard and painful, but when you actually do it, it’s much simpler than expected It may be different for each person, but anyway, if someone asked me right now whether I’d choose double-eyelid surgery or breast surgery, thinking only about the recovery process, I’d choose breast surgery (Of course, breast surgery is easier than I thought!, but it’s by no means completely easy Please don’t misunderstand) For those of you thinking about breast surgery! Be brave! It took me 5 years too, but once I actually did it, I finally understood why people who had already had surgery say, just go for it! Go for it! ps. This ID is originally mine, but my younger sibling once posted their nose surgery review here using this ID. They said making a new account was too much of a hassle -_- Please don’t misunderstand (I logged in today and suddenly got a message saying someone had read a nose surgery review, haha;;)
