Now it’s week 2! I’m taking my medication properly, applying the ointment diligently, and eating foods that are as warm and non-irritating as possible. Overall, there’s no major discomfort. After the splint was removed, the swelling has clearly gone down enough to see it. The line is definitely more defined than at first, and the nose shape is becoming more natural. They removed everything that was inside my nose and took out the plastic too... It really felt like my nose suddenly “opened up.” It was the first time I realized breathing could feel this clear. There’s still something like a tube remaining near the nostril area, so when it gets dry, the tip of my nose feels slightly stinging and dry. So I’m carefully applying ointment several times a day. The pain around the autologous costal cartilage area has almost disappeared, and sometimes it just feels a bit itchy or mildly prickly. I’m still being careful in case it gets irritated. I usually have a habit of sleeping on my left side, but I’m using a neck pillow and keeping my position so I can sleep facing upward without pressing on my nose. It was more uncomfortable than I expected, but the effect seems definite. Because of the deviated area and fractured nasal bone seen on the CT, I was told that the remaining material inside my nose needs to stay in a little longer. But my nasal obstruction is definitely gone, and I think the nasal valve surgery also went really well. Above all, the correction of my deviated nose turned out well, and the nasal bridge came out straight, so overall it definitely has a masculine straight-nose look. The hollow, numb sort of feeling from the early stage after surgery still remains a little, but I was told it will get better with time, so I’m just continuing to monitor it for now. I’m relieved because this time it really seems to have gone well, and I hope I recover well until the end.
