I had surgery for an upturned nose using costal cartilage for the nasal tip, ear cartilage for the nasal alae, and silicone for the nasal bridge. I want to remove everything. The surgery really did turn out well, but because of the foreign-body sensation, the side effects that I don’t know when might come, and the psychological self-loathing from having had cosmetic surgery, I want to have it removed. If I remove it in winter, would I not be able to go outside in the cold after removal?.. I want to return to school right after removal, but I feel like if I attend school, I won’t be able to take care of it properly after removal. Would it be better to take a leave of absence? Like people here who had removal say, do you really have to suffer and manage it for months after removal and give up daily life?... I’m curious whether it really takes 6 months for it to settle into even a shape similar to my old nose.. and whether during those 6 months I won’t be able to go outside and will have to only take care of my nose.
