It has been 14 hours since my nose surgery.

I wavered while trying to make the kind of decision that would solve all the worries in the world, and in the end I went through with it. I had my final consultation at 4 p.m. (3.5 or 4 mm silicone for the bridge, donated rib cartilage for the tip), then went into the operating room. I had local anesthesia. During the anesthesia, there was no real pain, just a feeling of pressure. (It felt like they injected my nose more than 15 times.) A little later, when the doctor said, "You’ll feel the touch, but there won’t be any pain," I reflexively answered, "Yes." Then the actual surgery began. The surgery took about an hour (maybe 50 minutes?). In the middle, I could feel them doing something to my already nonexistent nasal bridge, as if they were filing it down, and there was that creepy sound..... A little later, when they showed me the shaped bridge and said, "This is 4 mm, and if we raise it any more, your eyes may look too close together," I looked in the mirror and for a moment thought, "So this is why people do it." From the stitching stage, the anesthesia seemed to start wearing off, so there was a bit of pain while they were sewing, and I remember it stinging quite a lot when they disinfected it at the end..... The surgery ended with the doctor saying, "Good job." After the surgery, I was given the precautions and prescription, and went home with my hat pulled down low. (Since it was local anesthesia, driving myself home was no problem at all.) I think the pain was worst from 10 p.m. to midnight, around the 6-hour mark. Right now, the pain is almost gone, and there is a little swelling and bruising. I’ll report back again after the tape is removed.
