Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

This is my review of two-jaw surgery

<Before surgery><Before surgery><After surgery><After surgery>I'm posting a review of my two-jaw surgery. The reason I ended up getting two-jaw surgery was that since high school, I had been under constant stress because friends often teased me about my facial asymmetry, and my self-esteem dropped. Because of the asymmetry, I came to hate taking photos, and when I went outside it was very noticeable, so I kept worrying that people could tell. I looked into two-jaw surgery back then too, but I was still growing, so even if I had surgery, it could change again, and because of the cost, I couldn't ask my parents for help. So after becoming an adult, I saved money and dreamed of getting two-jaw surgery, but I still had a lot of concerns. It kept getting delayed because of various issues, but in the end I made up my mind to have surgery and went around looking at hospitals. Among them, the place I liked was an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic. At that clinic, the head director personally took care of everything one-on-one, from visits to postoperative care, and since the director had many years of experience, I had a consultation and scheduled the surgery without a long hesitation. Before the consultation, I had a CT scan, and during the consultation, they immediately explained the problems with my occlusion and kindly taught me about the preoperative orthodontic method, the surgical method, and whether there could be aftereffects. Due to personal circumstances, it took a long time from orthodontic treatment to two-jaw surgery, but finally, on 2025/04/23, I underwent two-jaw surgery and two additional procedures including square jaw and chin surgery. <1 week after surgery> They say recovery speed and the degree of pain differ from person to person, right? But for me, the first week was truly hard. It was a kind of pain I had really never felt before, so that period remains especially vivid in my memory. I had to sleep sitting up, couldn't breathe through my nose, and had to keep breathing only through my mouth, so the inside of my mouth got extremely dry. Phlegm kept building up, breathing was uncomfortable... it was literally a mental breakdown. Still, I think I endured each day with the mindset that "time will solve it." <3 weeks after surgery> By around week 3, the swelling had gone down noticeably. From the outside, it was just like I looked a bit plump? It had improved enough that people around me would probably just think I had some facial fullness. But this was where the real beginning started. The residual swelling lasted longer than I expected, and it felt like it wasn't going down and had just stalled. So from then on, I paid more attention to things like warm compresses, swelling-reducing tea, and consistent walking. It feels like recovery follows as much as you take care of your body. <4 weeks after surgery> Now it's been one month since surgery! There is still some swelling left, but I could definitely see that my facial contour had changed. Every time I looked in the mirror, I thought, "I'm really glad I had the surgery." Especially before, I often heard that I looked strong, but now I'm hearing that my impression has become much softer. There are still many things I have to be careful about, but from this point on, recovery became visible, so I felt much more at ease mentally. The biggest changes after surgery are that the asymmetry caused by malocclusion is gone, my jawline has become nicely defined, and my protruding mouth and receding chin have improved too haha I think I'm glad I had the surgery haha

This review is a surgical review pursuing a natural look.
