Hello, I had surgery on 7/12. I have a bulbous nose, and since I already had some nasal bridge height, I decided to have surgery only on the nasal tip. Septal cartilage was used. I'm not sure whether the alar cartilage was shaved or just tied together. Right after the surgery ended, they showed me a mirror, and in my opinion, there wasn't a big difference from the front, but from the side, the nasal tip looked slightly lifted. But my mom said it looked very different to her.. Anyway, they said the way it looked right after surgery would be almost similar to how it would look once the swelling went down. Right now, it's day 3 from surgery and day 2 after surgery. They said the swelling would peak this morning, but to me, it doesn't seem like there is much. My eyes aren't swollen or bruised, and the uncomfortable part is that my nasal tip feels tight when I open my mouth wide or purse it.. The sensation at the nasal tip is a bit reduced, and it also feels a bit hard. This part should improve as the swelling goes down, right..? Yesterday I saw a plastic-surgery-related post written by someone in their third year of medical school saying that rhinoplasty using cartilage always requires revision surgery within 3 years, so I am a bit anxious.. I hope I can trust my doctor, take good care of it, and have no problems for life.. I hope everyone here becomes prettier without any side effects!
