Hello, I said I would write a review before, and now that it's been 6 weeks, I'm leaving one. I remembered all the things I looked into before my removal surgery, so I have a lot I want to share........it's a bit long^^; Feel free to read only the parts you need,,,,, If you leave a comment with anything you're curious about, I'll let you know.
1) Surgical method, reason for removal
I had an open procedure in early March with 3 mm silicone, a septal extension graft, and osteotomy, and the surgery was successful. After the surgery, the foreign-body sensation and the awkward feeling were uncomfortable, but as the swelling gradually went down, the shape improved and the foreign-body sensation also disappeared.
But I came to realize that the nose really shouldn't be touched, that even if it's a slightly unattractive, insufficient nose, living with my comfortable own nose is the best thing. People who only saw it from the outside thought I was doing well after a successful surgery, but I had to keep being careful, and if I so much as got sick I was on edge.... and I never knew when I'd end up going through a hard time or what side effects might come with a revision surgery......
I realized all of that only after going through the money, the time, and the emotional toll. The hospital told me several times to think it over again, but I made up my mind and decided on early removal within two weeks, without wavering, and had it removed right away. They said early removal puts more strain on the nose and that I should wait, but I wanted to go back to my old nose as soon as possible, and I didn't want to wait, so I did it immediately.
The removal was done for free.
2) Removal surgery
It was open surgery and I had general anesthesia, everything was removed, and the cartilage was tied. Some people said it wasn't necessary to do that during removal, and I didn't want to touch anything either, but the doctor said it absolutely had to be done, so I agreed. I was worried it would leave me with a pinched nose, so I asked them to make sure it wouldn't happen.
The removal surgery hurt much more When I had the first surgery, I didn't feel pain, but once the anesthesia wore off, I had that prickling, cut-with-a-knife feeling for several days They said early removal hurts more. I guess that makes sense So don't worry about hurting after removal Even if you don't have contracture or inflammation, it still hurts
3) Shape/scarring after removal
The major swelling lasted longer than after the first surgery. It's gone down a lot now,
My original nose shape was actually quite nice. I had even been told, 'Did you have surgery?' and 'Your nose is pretty'... While going to consultations, there were even hospitals that told me not to do it, saying it was hard to make a nose this natural through surgery, and that it would also be hard to go back to the way it was before. (That hospital is truly a righteous hospital.... If you want, I'll tell you which one) But human greed is something else, really My nasal bridge was thick, so I went there wanting to fix that, and ended up getting silicone inserted too,
So after removal, I wanted it to at least look like my original shape, but they said it couldn't go back completely... Still, I do think it looks somewhat similar to before. There's still swelling and some lumpiness... it's different from before surgery, but my family and boyfriend don't notice. Of course I do I believe it will gradually become more natural.
The scar after the first surgery wasn't visible right away, but at 6 weeks now....I can see the scar marks. Of course, you wouldn't notice if you just look casually. You'll probably see them if you look from below. I think they'll gradually fade more and look more natural.
4) Separation of the nasal bridge
Actually, this was the part I was most worried about. From the reviews, there were people whose nasal bridges had split badly, and although a lifted nose tip can come back down, a split bridge can't be repaired, right? Still, I thought I'd just live with it as something caused by my own mistake, but during the removal consultation the doctor said he isn't the type to shave down the bridge very much, so I felt reassured that it wouldn't be too severe.... But thankfully, there's really no visible sign at all I'm so relieved I haven't even paid attention to it all this time I just remembered while writing this and looked in the mirror, and maybe it's only very slightly split? But it's not noticeable and doesn't bother me at all
5) Lumpiness/lifting
I think it was about two weeks after the removal surgery? The tissue scar, I guess they called it that? It got lumpy and hard. I've been doing warm compresses in the evening, and the tip of my nose has become a bit round and lumpy, but it's not severe and doesn't feel uncomfortable either. It seems to have loosened up compared to a few weeks ago.
It's lifting a little. It shows in photos and I can see it in the mirror too, but if I just don't think about it, I don't really notice it and it doesn't bother me. The columella has become a little shorter.
6) Medication prescription
The medicine is strong. Even while taking the three days' worth of medicine prescribed by the hospital after the surgery, I thought it was really strong. My body was exhausted. But Ribaven?.......people take a lot of that medicine because they're worried about contracture. I didn't take any at all. That medicine is also strong and apparently puts a lot of strain on the body. After searching online and hearing doctors' opinions, I felt I didn't need to take it, so I didn't. I was told contracture after removal is very rare. That medicine is not good for lumpiness, lifting, or loosening tissue scars. A lot of people take it for those reasons too....but I think it's better not to take it.
Um.......... I was trying to write in detail, and it ended up really long..
I have never regretted the removal, not even once.
It still doesn't look natural, and it doesn't look as good as my nose did before surgery. But I regret the first surgery, not the removal surgery. And since I was just ignorant and foolish, I want to think of it as a very good life experience. Before, I wanted surgeries here and there and was very greedy, but I've come to realize that managing what I have, working out, and taking care of my body... living healthily is what's important. These days there are really so many brokers and even surgery reviews are all fabricated... You have to research carefully before getting surgery or a procedure.
What I really want to say is,
If you truly feel like you can't live because of your nose, then you can do it, but if possible, don't do it. I really think the nose is something you shouldn't touch. If there are people who already decided on removal after surgery for some reason, don't be scared and go ahead. Listening to what the hospital says can make you waver, but make sure you do the removal.
And from reading reviews, I think many people keep watching every day's changes and worrying about them, and they get a lot of stress from that... I don't really do that. I just live without paying attention. Of course, you'll probably worry a lot. You'll pay a lot of attention too.... If you look closely, you'll know, of course, but others won't know at all, and if you keep staring in the mirror, you'll become more fixated and notice it more. Even before surgery, there were surely many odd parts, but I probably didn't know because I didn't look closely in the mirror. Would anyone really watch every day's changes in the shape of their nose? It may have even been different depending on how I felt that day. So I hope you don't torment yourself too much over your nose in the mirror.
And for those who had removal, when it's really hard, don't come into this community.... Getting information before surgery is very important and necessary, but if you come here because you're worried, impatient, and anxious and then read bad posts... you just end up worrying more
I hope everyone gets good results^^...
