Before surgery, I was very worried and had a hard time looking into clinics, but I'm already 2 weeks post-op. For my first surgery in the early part of 1995, I only had silicone placed to raise the nasal bridge, but for a surgically done nose, the shape really wasn't pretty. So in 2013, I had a revision with silicone + ear cartilage, but a few months later contracture gradually developed, and I lived for years with my nose quite upturned. I was also busy with life and didn't have any particular discomfort, so I just lived with it, but my side profile was so unattractive that it stressed me out without me fully realizing it. Then this winter, I had a chance to take a long break, so I made up my mind and had surgery. I considered using costal cartilage for the whole nose, but because there wasn't any major inflammation, I had silicone used for the nasal bridge (I still couldn't give up on the shape lol). The surgery started at 1, but the time I opened my eyes in the recovery room was almost 9 p.m. It seems like it took a really long time. Maybe because I'm older now, recovery also feels a bit slower And maybe because autologous costal cartilage was used, both my nose and chest area were a bit uncomfortable. My original foundation wasn't that great, so I didn't have big expectations. I just thought it would be nice if my nose came down well, and fortunately, so far I like it. Because it's costal cartilage, the nasal tip does seem very hard, as expected. I really hope I never have to have surgery again.
