Nose Re-Surgery

8-Month Review After a Long Time

It’s been a really long time since I wrote a post. I used to come in occasionally, maybe once every two months? But every time I looked, there were always new people, and posts saying they wanted removal kept going up... I felt like this cycle just keeps repeating, so I stopped coming in. Then I saw someone I had talked with post a long-term review, so I’m posting one too! I know there are people who are desperate, and the more desperate you are, the more you search through every review

I had only my nasal tip done using donated rib cartilage, ear cartilage, and septal cartilage. Because I had septal extension using donated rib cartilage and septal cartilage, the foreign-body sensation was very severe. I only wanted to slightly improve my original appearance, but I became so much uglier that I spent almost half a year desperately struggling. It’s a memory of a truly difficult time. People who get plastic surgery always have an imagined after-version of themselves in their mind, right? But you have to keep in mind that there is absolutely no guarantee it will turn out that way.

Anyway, there is a lot of talk that if you remove septal extension, the nose collapses or becomes shorter and things like that, but mine didn’t collapse; it got shorter. Not a lot... or maybe a lot? Anyway, I had a drooping nose, and the droop disappeared and it got shorter. I think it’s about 70% similar to my original nose.

For about a week, the swelling went down steadily, and then around weeks 3 to 5, the contraction phase came. In the morning it would swell more and look shorter, then loosen a bit by evening. At that time it didn’t resemble my original nose either, and only my nostrils looked more visible, so I was annoyed. It’s now about 7 to 8 months, and the nasal tip is somewhat soft now. The foreign-body sensation has completely disappeared, and I can touch it freely too.

Because the first hospital was a complete failure, it’s really hard that the scarring is severe But I think having it done at ㅅㅅㅇ was truly a good decision.

If you haven’t done your nose yet, please don’t. And if you’re struggling like I used to, it’s not as if there is no path at all. Even now, from time to time, I still want to go back to before I did it, and there are times I feel so miserable, but What’s done is done. If you empty your mind first and choose carefully, anything can get better.
