Seoul Queen Plastic Surgery Double Eyelid Revision Review (Incisional + Ptosis Correction + Interbrow Botox)
The reason I’m writing this review is that I got a lot of information from this forum before my revision surgery, so I’m leaving this post in the hope that it helps other members even a little. (The hospital has nothing to do with this review.)
First, my history.. In 2010, double eyelid incisional surgery + ptosis correction In 2012, the right side came loose. In 2012, revision surgery at the same clinic with buried sutures In February 2018, the right side came loose again. In December 2018, revision surgery at Seoul Queen Plastic Surgery with incisional surgery + ptosis correction
Location The hospital is easy to find. It is on the 10th floor of the KEB Hana Bank building right in front of Gangnam Station Exit 10. Also, this hospital building has three elevators, which is nice. It’s annoying when a building near Gangnam Station that has more than 10 floors only has one elevator. In a closed space, it stops at every floor, and because it’s slow, it’s exhausting.
Consultation. I visited this hospital twice, in March and November. I made my appointment after seeing a promotional event post on social media and visited; at that time it was Co&M Plastic Surgery, but it has since changed its name to Seoul Queen Plastic Surgery and a new director joined. (Director Im Jeong-taek) When I visited for consultation in March, I spoke with Director Lee Jeong-hee and Dr. Kim Jin-jung. In November, I consulted with Director Jeong Mi-ae and Dr. Ha Seung-il. The two doctors had different diagnoses, so I was torn. (Anyone else here with decision paralysis.....)
March visit Director Lee Jeong-hee: Soft-spoken and kind. We only exchanged questions and answers related to what was needed (plastic surgery). Nothing especially memorable.
Dr. Kim Jin-jung: Hmm.. hard to express in one word. I can’t think of a fitting word. Casual? Or rough around the edges? Something in between. He reminded me of the kind-hearted owner of the dry cleaner in my neighborhood too.. honestly, I’m not sure. Since I only met him once.. I had gathered some information beforehand before visiting, and Dr. Kim Jin-jung has done a lot of research on rhinoplasty, to the point that other plastic surgeons come to observe his operations. He is considered a master in rhinoplasty circles. A few days before I wrote this, an interview video appeared on Baritalk too (search Dr. Kim Jin-jung on YouTube), and I found it interesting. During the consultation, he looked carefully and asked again whether I had any questions. He also mixed in some theoretical explanations. When I asked if he could keep me under sedation anesthesia the whole time because I was scared during surgery, he agreed in one second. Lulu. Haha The doctor’s cool demeanor is totally nice. But when I said I absolutely wanted bigger eyes, he said that wasn’t possible. What he said was: Everyone’s eyes are different, and the shapes of the left and right eyes are also different, so the surgery can be done while considering harmony with the overall face. He seems to place a great deal of importance on harmony with the whole face and pursues a natural result.

Nothing major, but one thing that stuck in my memory was the thick medical textbooks in English behind the doctor? I thought he must have a lot of theoretical knowledge.
November visit
Director Jeong Mi-ae: Kind and easygoing. Since she’s also a mom raising a child, we talked not only about cosmetic surgery but also about parenting, my younger sibling’s surgery, her own surgery, and many other things. Ten minutes after entering the consultation room, the atmosphere became warm and friendly, and it was fun. The thought flashed through my mind, "Is this what it would feel like to have an older sister?" This person is incredibly capable.. My friend said she would just look around, but she ended up chatting and consulting too. In fact, my friend now seems to be a regular with the director. The prices are cheap, so she goes regularly and gets all kinds of things done...;; From our conversation, Director Jeong Mi-ae seemed like someone who works with a sense of mission, striving for patients’ satisfaction with their surgeries. And a small tip: if you build a good relationship with Director Jeong Mi-ae, it seems you may be able to get some price benefits through the director’s authority. Ah! And Director Jeong Mi-ae also had surgery from Dr. Ha Seung-il in early 2018.
Dr. Ha Seung-il: My first impression was that he inspired a lot of trust, and I could feel my mind becoming at ease. Looking back now, I think this kind of thing is surprisingly important when having surgery. (Wanting to undergo surgery in a calm mood? Feeling secure? Seeming upright? Feels trustworthy?) Without any objective or verified reason, my subconscious was leaning toward Dr. Ha Seung-il... I’m basically a bundle of instincts.. Dr. Ha Seung-il has experience with more than 10,000 eye surgeries, so I think he has seen a wide variety of cases. He also has experience researching eyes, and other clinics seem to observe his surgeries. He was kind during the consultation and examined me very carefully. And in general, he seemed to take the patient’s personal wishes and opinions into account a lot. He also explained all the reasons in advance for things that could not be done. I asked whether he could keep me sedated until the end, and the answer was no. I suddenly felt depressed. This is my third eye surgery, and I’m scared every time. I’m the queen of exaggeration in this area. @_@~ For ptosis correction, they said I had to blink because the eyes need to be aligned. Instead, they said I would be asleep for 80% of the surgery. When I said I wanted my eyes to be absolutely bigger, they said they could make the double eyelid line slightly higher than the current one, but if they forced the line too much bigger, the existing double-eyelid scar could cause two lines to form.

Decision made! I decided to have the surgery with Dr. Ha Seung-il. The decisive reason was unexpectedly simple. Director Jeong Mi-ae also had surgery from Dr. Ha Seung-il, and after talking with one nurse, I learned that she too had undergone revision surgery by Dr. Ha Seung-il. The staff who know this clinic best had surgery with Dr. Ha Seung-il, so maybe that’s because among the three doctors, he is the best at surgery? Haha, it’s just my silly instinct.
Surgery price. The price is quite low. But these days, many hospitals run events, so I understand there are quite a few affordable clinics. If I had to point out what makes this place different from others, all the doctors here are board-certified plastic surgeons, and when you look at cost-effectiveness and results, I think it is an optimal clinic.
Satisfaction Overall, I’m satisfied. The reason I’m not completely satisfied yet is that the swelling hasn’t gone down fully, so I don’t know the final result. I think I’ll only know after 3 months. (I plan to leave follow-up reviews at 1 month and 3 months.) The drooping skin made my eyes look heavy and made blinking difficult, but after the sagging skin was removed, my eyes look lighter, and because of the ptosis correction, blinking has become much more comfortable. The line is also pretty and clean. But right now, at a glance, my eyes do look swollen. This is definitely swelling. If the swelling goes down just a little more, I think it will become exactly the eyes I want. I still can’t tell how much more swelling will go down.
Surgery day I had my appointment at 1:00 and arrived, but the surgery before mine was delayed, so I waited 30 minutes. I received an explanation of the precautions from a hospital staff member. Suddenly I was asked how much alcohol I can drink? What? Because of the anesthesia? Since I’ve been pregnant, given birth, and raising a child, it’s been almost 2 years since I could drink. The doctor came out, did the design, and I went to a private recovery room. I liked that this hospital has private recovery rooms. It was my third eye surgery, but I was still scared, so while changing into the surgical gown, I thought I should calm myself and clear my mind before going in for surgery. Just then, the nurse called me. "We’ll head to the operating room now.~~Huh? What? I’m not ready yet...." I followed along meekly. It turned out that at this hospital, you don’t need to change into a separate surgical gown.
When I lay on the operating table, the nurses beside me comforted me and told me not to be nervous. In the middle of that, I looked at their eyes. They had also had revision surgery from Dr. Ha Seung-il... but their eyes were really beautiful. I entered sedation anesthesia with the conviction, "My instinct was right after all! Haha" When I woke from anesthesia, it seemed like they were left with ptosis correction to finish. After blinking a few times, the surgery was over. The surgery ended quickly without pain or any distressing process. It had been scheduled for 1:30, but it finished in 50 minutes. I was so frightened that it felt anticlimactic. Why was I such a drama queen... embarrassing... Also, after sedation anesthesia wears off, you get very thirsty. They let you drink water right away after surgery. I asked a friend to order an iced Americano in advance, and I drank it in one shot the moment the surgery ended. But it still wasn’t enough.. haha In any case, you get very thirsty. If you’re having surgery, I recommend bringing an electrolyte drink in advance.
And one thing I really liked was that double eyelid lines often become blurry toward the back over time, and I had forgotten to ask them to stitch carefully all the way to the end of the line, but they had neatly stitched all the way to the back end on their own. Haha
Before leaving, they gave me a prescription, and the medication for 3 days cost about 20,000 won. (Not covered by insurance)
When I got home, I did a cold compress and was about to eat dinner when I got a text from Director Jeong Mi-ae. She asked whether the surgery went well, whether it was too hard, told me to keep icing my eyes well, and to rest properly today. It was the first time a director had contacted me so much, and I thought it was really impressive. She seems to have a natural gift for building relationships. As a mom raising a child, I don’t have time to take care of myself, so having someone look after me made me feel a little better from just one text. Haha (When you’re raising a child, you feel like you’re the most exhausted person in the world and the most wronged person in the world..)
On the first day, I couldn’t sleep until 3 a.m. As the anesthesia wore off, it wasn’t so much sharp pain as an irritating throbbing, pulling sensation, and foreign-body feeling, so I was annoyed and couldn’t sleep, then barely managed to doze off. I am also a rather sensitive person.
Day 2 The dreaded second day. The throbbing, pulling sensation, and foreign-body feeling got worse along with the swelling, and it was hard to open my eyes. I kept icing with ice and it was a little difficult, but manageable.
Day 3 The double eyelid line was itchy, and the swelling moved downward, so the bridge of my nose and cheekbone area were swollen. On day 3, there was also throbbing, pulling, and a foreign-body feeling, and it was hard that day too.
Day 4 The swelling really started to go down. Occasionally the double eyelid line itched. I lightly scratched it with a cotton swab.
Day 5 No special issues.
Day 6 The stitches were removed on day 6. (The photo is before stitch removal.) Since the eyes were still very swollen, I even teared up a little when the stitches were removed. There wasn’t much pain overall. There were many people at the hospital, but the wait wasn’t long, which was nice. Day 7 Photo after stitch removal. After the stitches were removed, I could definitely feel the swelling going down faster.
Day 10 The bruising is almost all gone, the line is gradually fading a little, and the swelling is continuing to go down.
Day 14 Most of the swelling has gone down, and I can go out freely. There is still some swelling left, so the double eyelid line is definitely still on the thick side, and there is some unnaturalness. If you meet someone with a sharp eye, they may be able to tell that I had double eyelid surgery not long ago. They say the major swelling goes down within 2 weeks, the residual swelling within 6 months, and the line becomes natural from about a month onward, so I plan to keep watching it.
