Nose Re-Surgery

Asking for My First Nose Surgery Records Before Removal

Eight months ago, I had a closed rhinoplasty at a large factory-style clinic, with the tip cartilage tied and diced cartilage grafted onto the nasal dorsum to fill the step created by tying it. During my aftercare consultation, the doctor kept changing the explanation of what had been done. — My nasal tip has become excessively long and droops downward. Can the cartilage be removed? — A: There was no cartilage placed in the tip originally; it is the shape created by tying my own cartilage. Because my nose was short, it was pulled slightly forward and made longer before being tied. If you dislike that and want correction, we can do it through an open approach. — My previously short nasal tip became too long and turned into a witch’s nose. I want to confirm what was done before getting revision surgery, so please contact me after checking. Was it correct that, without a septal extension procedure, only diced cartilage from my ear was grafted onto the dorsum? A: After tying the cartilage, diced cartilage was grafted onto both the dorsum and the tip. Before surgery, we had agreed not to inject cartilage into the tip and only to fill the step on the dorsum. I’m so angry because I keep getting different answers… Do large factory-style clinics normally not have surgical records? Why does the explanation keep changing? If I only know that diced cartilage was grafted onto the dorsum and tip after tying the cartilage, will that be enough for a removal consultation? If there’s anything else I should ask, could you let me know? Also, is it normal for the tip of the nose to be extremely hard?
