I am entering my sixth week now, but my nose line has not changed much from week three, so I almost decided not to write this. I will focus on the common questions. If this is a plateau and I have no other symptoms afterward, this may be my final review.
* Which clinic did you have it at? > [Clinic A] * What surgery did you have? > Complete removal (silicone, support strut, ear cartilage, cartilage suturing). No reinforcement, no cartilage suturing, no perichondrium from the ear cartilage. * Previous surgery history? > Septorhinoplasty for functional and cosmetic purposes, lateral osteotomy, and hump reduction. During revision surgery, it was shaved slightly to accommodate the silicone, and it was also lightly refined during complete removal. In terms of the number of times, it was touched up several times. * Did any irregularity or hump remain? > It remains as a natural-looking curve. * What was it like being awakened during surgery? > Perhaps because a sedative had been given, I simply thought, “I am having surgery,” without thinking much. Something sharp repeatedly poked the bridge of my nose, and then something was removed. I wonder if it was capsule removal; it was a very strange sensation I had never experienced before. If I had to imagine it, it felt like a woodpecker striking and pecking away. Toward the end, perhaps as the anesthesia gradually wore off, I could feel things clearly and it hurt. * What are the contraction symptoms like? > I have not noticed any changes or significant symptoms. Occasionally my nose feels itchy. The tingling when I turn onto my side was also present before surgery, so it feels similar. I hope the symptoms disappear completely. * Anything else you were worried about? > I was very worried about visibility and indentation because my skin is thin. I was told that the area where the cartilage showed might remain as it was. When I look under light or examine myself closely in the mirror, I can see a white circle remaining where the cartilage used to show. I was told my own cartilage might become visible, but that never happened even with my original nose, so I am not sure. There is no indentation yet, but I am watching it. * They say skin gets thinner with each surgery? > I think that is true. I can clearly feel that after this surgery. It feels thinner and weaker. I do not know how it will be in a few months, but at least regarding my nose, I feel relieved that I have finally graduated from cosmetic surgery! I hope everyone’s surgery goes well.
