Hehehehehe. When I first had nose surgery, I was fairly satisfied. In 2018, I had it done with silicone, septal cartilage, and ear cartilage, and I thought the nasal tip and bridge would match reasonably well... but that was my misconception. The silicone was too high, so the tip looked relatively low, and because the glabella was high, it still somehow looked awkward even with makeup.
So I kept thinking about revision surgery, and felt like if I didn’t do it now, I’d never do it. After putting it off for years, I eventually looked for a place that was good at making a straight-to-curved nose and had it done at Finish. The director looked at my nose and said we should lower the glabella and raise the tip. Since he immediately pointed out the exact parts I had been worrying about, I felt embarrassed and thought, so it really does look the same to everyone. I made a reservation that same day and left.
What I wanted was one thing: a straight-to-curved nose that looked natural yet also glamorous... But honestly, I was a little scared to say it. I was worried that because I said it like that, they might raise the tip too much like an upturned nose or make it look pinched and overly narrowed. I half-jokingly, half-seriously told him that if I ended up like that, I would really resent him, and the director laughed and told me not to worry.. lol
For my surgery, I had short-nose correction, bulbous nose correction, and alar reduction, and I worried a lot about the material until the very end. At the place I consulted first, they recommended donated costal cartilage, but I wanted autologous costal cartilage. After thinking it over, I felt cartilage taken from my own body would be more stable in terms of inflammation and would probably sag less, so I used autologous costal cartilage and also received a guarantee. They said they would take responsibility if the nasal tip droops, so I’m keeping it safely and not throwing it away lol
For the first week after surgery, it was just a battle with myself because of the swelling.... At the clinic, I also got swelling-reduction IV fluids and they managed me well, so it went down faster than I expected. A few days after removing the splint, most of the major swelling had already gone down. From then on, I could see that my glabella had been lowered, and I was genuinely so happy.
It’s been about a month now, and people around me say my nose made me look much more feminine and that I did a good job. Sometimes when I take selfies, I also wonder, is this really my nose? Well, you never know what will happen in life, but at this point I’m convinced this was my last surgery.
Pain from the autologous costal cartilage was also something I worried about, but I wore the abdominal binder the clinic gave me from time to time, so aside from the beginning, I recovered quickly without much abdominal tightness or major discomfort.
If your first nose surgery turned out badly, get it redone.. don’t do it late like I did. It’s a nose you’ll have for the rest of your life anyway. I also resisted because I didn’t want to do it, but if I had just done it back in 2019, I would have spent my younger years looking prettier, and since prices hadn’t risen as much then, I probably could have done it a bit cheaper. I’m just glad it turned out to my liking even now.
