One-year review of surgery for a man's bulbous, low nose

It has been a little over 1 year since I had my first nose surgery around the end of December 2023. I have been caught up in real life, so I have not been able to write any reviews until now, but I will write one in hopes that it helps even a little for people getting nose surgery.

1. Choosing the hospital First, I excluded places that said they would do it through various events, and decided based on whether communication with the doctor was good and whether the nose shapes the doctor had worked on? were the shapes I wanted. Actually, I live outside Seoul, so I visited two places in person, but even if I went elsewhere, I did not like the nose shapes in the reviews, so I just picked this one.

2. Nose surgery The surgery I received was cartilage tying, septal extension, and silicone (5 mm) insertion. I think I had cartilage tying because I had a bulbous nose, but it seems like a bulbous nose is not corrected as easily as you might think. Fortunately mine was not originally severe. There was not much difference before and after, so I did not include photos. For height, I think it is best to do what the doctor recommends. I was worried it might be too high, but it is not as high as I expected.

3. One-year review after surgery I am the type who swells a lot, but I did not know that before surgery. I rested for one week and went to work, but the swelling was so severe that I could not go outside for about 2 months. Not only swelling, but dark discoloration appeared on my nose.. and yellow bruising lasted over a month and a half.. I kept it secret except from people in the same department, but I heard all kinds of suspicions, starting from a traffic accident to rumors of family trouble, whether I had gotten drunk and fought, etc. Anyway, my appearance made even my parents worry and ask whether the surgery had gone wrong. My mentality collapsed too. But after suffering emotionally for a month, instead of being satisfied, I became resigned and thought, if it looks strange, I will just get revision surgery. From around 3-4 months, my nose suddenly started doing its job, and until it came down slightly (8-9 months), it became the nose I was most satisfied with. Now it has come down slightly, so that is disappointing.

As for side effects, my nose has become a little crooked? Not enough to be noticeable, and I do not think there are functional problems with my nose, but maybe because a large shape called silicone was placed on a nose that was originally crooked, it looks more emphasized. I keep my hair down because I worry it will show if I expose my forehead. Also, I get nosebleeds a little more often, and I do have more anxiety than before surgery, but so far I am satisfied. Everyone, please think very, very carefully and choose well whether to get nose surgery.

This review is a surgery review that pursues natural beauty.
