Background for getting surgery) I had lived thinking my bare eyes were not small eyes. When I wore makeup they looked much bigger, so when I said I was getting double-eyelid surgery, more than half the people around me tried to stop me. But having a wide distance between my eyes was a complex, and whenever I took photos my eyes looked sooooo plain, especially in photos taken by others they came out really small, so I even went through a face slump. And maybe because of drooping eyelids.. Since I was always opening my eyes with my forehead without realizing it, I was starting to get forehead wrinkles from my 20s
Anyway, so when I was looking for hospitals for consultations, I searched online for almost a month and narrowed down about 5 places to visit in person, then went to this clinic. I think I chose it because it was a private clinic, the director's experience, and because they had only been doing eyes, and related papers and things like that increased my trust. And decisively, my eyes were a bit ambiguous-looking.. At other hospitals, they said I needed removal of fat above the eyes. But one of the reasons I decided on double-eyelid surgery was that there was a subtle hollowing above my eyes, so I wondered, is it okay to remove fat? (In fact, the older relatives in my family have sunken eyes and their eye hollows are no joke). But the director here said firmly that eyes like this become hollow with age, so fat removal is absolutely not something that should be done, and I think that is why I chose this place. Also, I originally thought about opening the epicanthoplasty more refreshingly, but since the position of my pupils was not toward the front, I was worried it might look like strabismus, so I decided to open it just slightly. Also, I was definitely thinking incision, but they said natural adhesion would be enough, and in my case, if I did incision the line would be too deep and look awkward.
Surgery review) It was my first surgery in my life, so I was really, really nervous, but they looked after me very calmly and did good aftercare too. I had a lot of worries and questions, so I contacted the consultant quite a bit, but they gave me very good feedback. I also went twice for swelling laser treatment. When I said I thought the epicanthoplasty area might scar, they immediately scheduled a visit and gave me scar injections too. Other than the scar injections being really painful the effect was good. Also, my skin is a bit weak and thin, so the bruised area on the line of one eye hurt until about week 2, and the inside of the eye felt like it was pulling, so I was really anxious, but thankfully, as they told me, it was largely because of swelling. With surgery, time really is the answer.. Ah, at the first consultation I said I wanted the double-eyelid line to be natural and not make my impression too strong. I originally planned on an in-out line, but a semi-out line seemed to suit my eyes better, so they set a natural line somewhere between in-out and semi-out.. and I am satisfied. I still cannot do makeup that suits it well, so I will have to research more. I like that it did not change my original impression too drastically, and I like that I can open my eyes much more comfortably haha
