Nose Re-Surgery

Complete removal versus partial removal..

I just came back from a consultation for complete removal.. I thought the inflammation around my columella meant the material there was the problem, but they said inflammation from the silicone had come down..? I’m so confused. None of the clinics where I had my nose surgeries ever brought up the silicone.. But for my first surgery I had ear cartilage, septal cartilage, and silicone, and for revision I used autologous costal cartilage and silicone. If inflammation occurred in both surgeries, it really does seem like the silicone is the problem. After my first surgery, my tip drooped after the inflammation was cleaned out, and they said it might have collapsed and drooped because cartilage was accidentally disturbed during the cleaning. So they said that even after removal it could collapse, and it might be better to leave the autologous costal cartilage that is unrelated to the inflammation as a support.. I had naturally gone in thinking about complete removal, but now that partial removal has become an option, I’m extremely conflicted.. Is my own tissue really unrelated to the inflammation? I never cared that my nose was hard or anything like that, but the inflammation and columellar scar have been psychologically difficult, so I was considering complete removal. What if my own tissue was actually the problem too? I’m afraid the inflammation will happen again.. I don’t want to suffer like that again But part of me also thinks that with partial removal, I might be able to keep the tip a little prettier, and in any case it probably wouldn’t collapse immediately.. Leaving something inside is basically revision surgery without an implant, right.... Regardless of beauty, I think it would be psychologically difficult to leave something behind, so I’m going crazy trying to decide. Has anyone had partial removal?
