Nose Re-Surgery

Consultation for removal at my first clinic

I’m deliberating between [Clinic A] and my first clinic, but today I only visited my first clinic. They quoted 1 million won for septal removal, releasing the cartilage, cartilage repositioning, and scar-tissue removal. I spoke with the coordinator first and only had a short conversation with the director. What I told them about my nose and what I want: osteotomy of the nasal bridge, septal-tip work, and cartilage removal/rebinding, but I don’t want it to spread out too much and look completely natural. They said there were no before-and-after photos, since people usually have revision surgery rather than removal alone, and even when there are cases, almost no patients agree to let them show the photos, so I couldn’t see removal before-and-afters. Director: They can remove the nose implant, but they don’t know how it will heal; it could bend. Most cases are fine, but I need to know that bending is possible. Coordinator: Scar tissue has already formed, and because the tip wasn’t raised much, even after removal it will only become 1–2 mm lower and slightly flatter than now, without a major change. Since it isn’t a contracted nose, there won’t be a contraction period, and there should be little bruising or swelling. As for bending, my original nose is already slightly crooked, so even if it bends, it would bend to about that degree. They said bruising, swelling, and bending usually do not happen, but they are possible. Conclusion: It seems like removal should be okay. What do you think? I had already discussed everything with the coordinator, so I didn’t get a chance to ask the director... The overall feeling seemed to be that removal would be okay, but it would be a shame.
