About ten years ago, I had rhinoplasty with Gore-Tex and auricular cartilage. Over time, I started looking into removal because of visibility and the implant outline showing. I am scared to remove the implant completely, so I am considering revision with autologous dermis. I consulted two clinics known for this, [Clinic A] and [Clinic B]. Before the consultations I favored [Clinic A], but after visiting both, I leaned toward [Clinic B] because it is closer. Then one decisive issue suddenly put me off [Clinic B], so I am leaning back toward [Clinic A].
I keep comparing their reviews and am still undecided If anyone in this community has faced the same dilemma, I would love to hear what you chose and why.
1. [Clinic A] Pros: The doctor has extensive experience and specializes in rhinoplasty with autologous dermis; there are many reviews on the clinic's community site, including reviews over seven years old; although many posts look promotional, they still seem to have been uploaded by actual patients (perhaps for review events?)—this last point is just my speculation. Cons: It is far away, the surgery is divided into first and second procedures, several clinic visits are required, and many reviewed noses do not have the style I want (a high bridge and a drooping tip? This may be adjustable through consultation).
2. [Clinic B] Pros: It is close to home and finishes in one primary procedure; scar care seems systematic; they took a CT scan and explained my nasal condition in detail; it is slightly cheaper; the nose shapes in the reviews suit my taste better, although those reviews are mostly from one or two years ago. Cons: The doctor is a specialist in autologous dermis but seems to perform many other surgeries too; it is difficult to find many old reviews; while searching, I found posts repeatedly using the same photo as if they were different people's surgical reviews—not once or twice, but continually—so I was extremely put off.
If anyone has real surgical experience with either clinic, please give me some advice...!
