Reason for surgery before and after before and after I have been undergoing orthodontic treatment for over 2 years, but my retruded chin and gummy smile did not improve, so I started looking into double jaw surgery and came across Y Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. I made a consultation appointment right away and had the consultation. The director explained only exactly what was needed, and the consultation manager also counseled me kindly, so I decided on it.
Double jaw surgery, 2 types of facial contouring (square jaw + chin), surgery day I arrived around 9:40 a.m., changed into patient clothes, met the director, and went into the surgery preparation room. I was not particularly nervous and slept well the night before, but once I was about to go in, I got nervous haha The surgery ended around 2 p.m., and when I first opened my eyes, I did not think it hurt, did not think it was uncomfortable, and just had no thoughts... I think I just endured it while only thinking I wanted time to pass quickly.. Day 2 In the morning, they removed the blood drain and urinary catheter. Seriously, when they removed the urinary catheter, I screamed without realizing it. It hurts so much.. After that, I again spent time endlessly spacing out. My head hurt so much that I told the nurse and kept an ice pack on my head. I could not even look at my phone...
Day 3 In the morning, I received swelling laser, met the director, and was discharged. My throat was swollen, so taking medicine was very hard, so I took them one by one. I also took a short nap haha
Days 4-6 My face kept swelling like it was going to burst, so I asked the consultation manager on KakaoTalk, and she said it was normal haha I used ice packs frequently and kept wearing the compression band too.
Day 7 The director said I could brush my teeth now, so as soon as I got home, I bought a baby toothbrush and brushed my teeth. It felt so refreshing, and the swelling had still not gone down much haha
Week 2 My nose opened up and I could brush my teeth, so I became much more comfortable. I went to the hospital to have the stitches inside my mouth removed, and removing the lower ones really hurts,, haha Then I received swelling care and came home haha
Month 1 Finally, it became month 1, and the director said I could eat rice now, so I went straight home and ate rice. I thought, finally!!! but I could not eat everything I wanted.. Still.. too much strain.. But I am happy that there are more things I can eat,, haha But chewing is still a bit slow, so it took a long time, but I was still happy. The swelling has still not gone down a lot, but I am holding on while imagining how I will look after 3 months haha Double jaw surgery is definitely dramatic even when swollen, and after seeing the CT images, I think I can wait it out. The long-face retruded-chin feeling is gone too, and I am happy.. These days I feel truly grateful. It is so hot lately that I sweat after walking just a little, so I do not need walks to reduce swelling haha Completely lucky-bicky haha.. Then everyone!
