Liposuction Reviews

Calf liposuction (a hospital not even worth 1 star)

The worst hospital.. I realized why plastic surgery or liposuction is something you have to get only at hospitals in the Gangnam area. The director and team leader were unprofessional, said rude things, and had an unpleasant way of speaking (just by looking at their faces, the team leader and the manager seemed older, and maybe because of that? They gave off the feeling of looking down on younger customers). From the whole hospital staff who didn’t seem to care, to the director who ran off avoiding the customer.

Especially the team leader, who kept telling me to just endure it in an unpleasant tone even though I was in pain from vascular pain and bleeding, and the manager who spoke with a “that’s your problem” attitude... Also, it seemed like many of the staff here were Chinese, and they couldn’t communicate with each other at all, so it was exhausting having to explain the same situation over and over

Day of surgery: Because work had gotten busy recently, I had been pulling all-nighters or only sleeping 1 to 2 hours for several days, and on the morning of the surgery day I thought maybe getting an IV at a nearby internal medicine clinic before going in would improve my condition. My veins usually aren’t easy to see, and because I was feeling so bad they were even harder to see, so they kept poking the backs of my hands and my arms with needles 5 or 6 times. The vascular pain was so severe that I couldn’t stand it, so in the end I came back without even getting half of the 80,000 won IV.

I explained the situation to this hospital, and they told me to come in first because they would give me an injection once I arrived. But what injection? In the morning, I had already gone for that vein injection because the vascular pain made it impossible to even finish half the IV, and they didn’t even tell me what injection it was, just kept telling me to come in and that they would check my condition first.

But as soon as I arrived, they told me to change clothes, and even though I said my condition was really bad and the vascular pain was severe, without saying anything they gave me an injection with an extremely thick needle, and when I kept saying it hurt, they only told me to endure it. It was that unpleasant team leader. Then they checked my blood pressure, and even when it hurt so much that I couldn’t stand it, they just kept telling me to endure it. Suddenly they told me to carry the IV drip myself and come out to the front desk, and there they told me to sign many consent forms without explaining them. At the end, I only heard for the first time that the compression garment cost would be an extra charge; I hadn’t heard that during the first consultation either. Up to that point, I thought maybe this was understandable. But the vascular pain was getting unbearable, and it had even started bleeding, yet they still just kept telling me to endure it. I have had full-body liposuction in several different areas at different hospitals many times, but I have never seen a hospital where they give you an injection with such a thick needle, make you push the IV drip around by yourself and move back and forth, and then have you sign consent forms at the billing desk without explanations. Even though my condition was so bad, they had said they would check my condition first when I came in, but instead they just wanted to proceed straight to surgery without any of that. And on top of that, while the vascular pain was so severe, they only kept telling me to endure it... Usually they give the injection in the operating room or recovery room after everything is done, but this was the first time I had to move around the hospital with the needle still in me. And that too while it was hurting terribly and still bleeding... I knew that if surgery starts, the IV has to go in... If they had given the injection in the operating room, I would have been under anesthesia and wouldn’t have felt the pain anyway... I started thinking, what if something goes wrong with the surgery here... Because the bleeding kept going and the vascular pain was unbearable, I asked them to take it out, but they wouldn’t remove it, so I said I couldn’t go through with the surgery. They had originally said they would check my condition first because I wasn’t feeling well... But trying to make me proceed right away also made me very anxious. Either way, if I didn’t go into surgery, I would lose my deposit... And from my perspective, because the manager never explained that some items were excluded from the original surgery fee, not only my deposit but also the compression garment fee was lost, so how much pain and anxiety do you think I was in to say I wouldn’t have the surgery? I’m the one losing more here

Then that team leader, who looked quite a bit older and had been the one telling me to keep enduring the vascular pain earlier, suddenly started shouting at me and getting angry. He asked why I was suddenly not going through with surgery and what the problem was, and spoke to me in such an unpleasant tone, like a bad boss at a company scolding a subordinate, not like a customer. I said my condition was really bad, the vascular pain was severe, and the bleeding wasn’t stopping, and I couldn’t endure it anymore. He said liposuction isn’t a dangerous surgery and my condition was fine for surgery, so I should just go ahead, and in that moment I felt like he was saying that because it wasn’t his body and it was someone else’s body... so I felt offended by how bluntly he spoke. On top of that, I was not only in vascular pain but also feeling nauseous and dizzy at the time.. I’m the one who suffered the loss, and I lost my deposit and the compression garment fee too, so was there really any reason to get that angry at me? So upsetting... Then suddenly they said that if I didn’t proceed with surgery, I would have to pay the full surgery fee, even though that was never explained during the consultation, when I left the deposit, or in the explanation sheet. I said that normally only the deposit is lost, so does it make sense for this hospital to demand the entire surgery fee, which they never explained, as a penalty? Then they suddenly changed their story. Getting angry again, they said, oh, the penalty is 10% of the surgery cost? I told them I had never received such an explanation, and then a scary-looking manager with a tough older-sister vibe appeared (the counter on the far right when you enter), and in an unpleasant tone said that because I didn’t cancel, a penalty would occur. I didn’t understand what she was saying... Then I thought, how are they going to collect a penalty from people who didn’t cancel and from people who just no-show on the day of surgery? More than anything, I was even more upset because they didn’t explain any of this. And all the while, they still wouldn’t remove the IV I was in so much pain that I could die I said I would even pay the penalty, so please issue a receipt... and when I said I would write a review, they suddenly said they wouldn’t charge the penalty. Then they said if that’s the case, how could they give me a receipt? I was speechless. They acted like I was asking for a favor... Even though I had been saying all along that it hurt so much because of the injection, they just told me to endure it, and even got angry and spoke in an unpleasant tone. Why should I, as the customer, be expected to show extra consideration to people who were just doing their own jobs and told me to endure it? Isn’t that too much? I felt like I was going to collapse because my body was so unwell

Before I left, I had so many complaints that I asked if I could see the director, and they said the director was in surgery, but after just a few minutes they suddenly said the director had left work... Their story kept changing, so I just felt like they were avoiding the customer and the director was irresponsible I was upset in so many ways Even if that was true, the fact that he left right after surgery without checking the patient’s condition... made me think, ah, this hospital really doesn’t carefully check on the customer’s condition.

I really felt terrible.. The people who had forced me at the beginning, saying surgery would be fine even though I was in bad condition Seriously... sigh They said it was scientifically okay, but in the end the “science” they were talking about seemed to be blood pressure and the blood test results from two weeks earlier... But blood test results can change even within a few days The reason I was anxious about my condition is because I know my own body best

In the end: 1. I lost money 2. I suffered from the vascular pain and kept bleeding 3. I paid both money and time and felt hurt because of the rude team leader and the manager sitting at the far-right counter 4. Even though I was in pain, they didn’t remove the IV and only told me to endure it, so my condition got worse and I felt like I was about to collapse So upsetting The worst service and an irresponsible hospital...
