Nose Surgery Reviews

I’ve had four nose surgeries—after six months, this must really be the end, right?

As I wrote in the title, I’ve had four nose surgeries so far. After each of the first three, my nasal bridge protruded, the tip drooped, and an uneven step formed, leaving my nose worse than if I had never had surgery. It cost a lot, but the psychological distress was also severe. I was extremely depressed, wondering whether my nose was simply unsuitable for surgery. Another revision seemed impossible financially and psychologically, and more than anything I wanted a safe surgery that would not repeat the same situation. I looked into many clinics very seriously and spent several months making a list. I had already lost years to failed nose surgeries, so I thought spending a few months researching was nothing. Among the clinics I considered, I ultimately chose Gift because they perform many revision surgeries and I liked the consultation best. Dr. Yoo Gi-hyeon listened very seriously to my concerns and explained clearly why my tip had kept drooping and how it could be improved. He used autologous rib cartilage together with ear cartilage at the tip, tied the tip cartilage, and corrected the uneven step. After surgery, the swelling went down unevenly, so I was very anxious that something had gone wrong. Posts in this community saying to wait until three months after surgery and that it would improve with time helped me feel somewhat relieved and get through it without spiraling. Thank you, everyone here.... haha. Once three months had passed, the symmetry was good and everything looked fine. Now it has been six months, and all the areas I worried about have been resolved; the tip has stayed up well without drooping. Since my nose looks prettier, people around me often say I’ve lost weight or that my face looks smaller. I realized how important the nose is to the face and wondered how I lived before. I’m proud of myself for getting through that long period of psychological distress....^^ I thought I had researched carefully before my earlier surgeries too, but looking back, I think I just wanted to become prettier and rushed in without really investigating. I regret that time, but I’m grateful that I finally ended up satisfied. I hope everyone researches carefully and has surgery wisely so you don’t get trapped in the cycle of revision surgery like I did.
