My eyes: I have experience with buried double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction, and because I’m concerned about sleepy-looking eyes, I’m planning an incisional revision surgery.
Gangnam Station ㅂㄴ ㅂㅎㄱ -Reason I went: When I search sleepy eyes on ㅂㅂㅌ right now, this place comes up the most, I saw many cases similar to mine, and I liked the results. -Wait: It was so long that I got stressed. I was the only consultation client, and everyone else seemed to be there for aftercare or surgery, but it was endless waiting - consultant - endless waiting - doctor consultation - endless waiting - consultant... I told them I had another appointment afterward and wanted to do the consultation a bit faster, but there was no progress at all, and the consultant also spoke rather slowly, so I ended up canceling one hospital -Doctor consultation: He said mine was a complicated case. The consultation was fairly long. He kept having me close and open my eyes, tried making the line, and examined carefully / Recommended incisional ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty, but said my left eye has a slight lagophthalmos tendency (they said it doesn’t close fully when I close my eyes. I had no idea at all and had no discomfort), so if I do ptosis correction on the left, there is concern for overcorrection; let’s do ptosis correction only on the right eye -> then do I really have to operate on the left eye? -> the left eye is currently done with a buried method, but if the right eye is done by incision, the feel will be too different, so just do incisional double eyelid surgery on the left eye too. -Notes: Surgery time 2 hours, they make you add their Plus Friend.
Gangnam Station ㅅㅅ ㅅㅈㅎ -Reason I went: There were many surgery posts about sleepy eyes on YouTube and blogs. -Wait: Maybe because it was a weekday afternoon, it didn’t take long. I was even late because of the previous hospital, but I went in almost right away. The consultant was pretty and kind. She said a lot of nice things, but there was pressure to add various things. I really liked the line the consultant drew for me (together with epicanthoplasty and hook canthoplasty). -Doctor consultation: Very concise compared with the previous hospital. He just said, do incisional double eyelid surgery and canthoplasty to match the symmetry of the inner corners, and that will do~ And when I told him what the previous hospital said, he said the incomplete eye closure is because there isn’t enough eyelid skin, not related to ptosis correction. -Notes: For 1 year of AS, line or canthoplasty improvements are possible for the anesthesia fee. Swelling laser, scar-tissue injections, and scar laser are free. They emphasized that the surgery only takes 40-50 minutes (he has good hand skills).
Gangnam Station ㄷㅂ ㄱㄷㅂ -Reason I went: There are many videos on YouTube and reviews saying he is a perfectionist. -Wait: None at all. I left the hospital in 10 minutes. -Doctor consultation: Fast and neat. Same recommendation: incisional ptosis correction and epicanthoplasty / When I mentioned the first two hospitals’ opinions about left-eye ptosis correction, he said both doctors were basically right, but (rather than lack of eyelid skin, it’s just that my eyes are protruding, so they close a little incompletely) he originally planned to lift 2 mm and fix it strongly, but if I’m worried about lagophthalmos, he would only lift 1 mm and fix it less strongly. Whether lagophthalmos will happen can only be known after surgery by watching the progress, so he can’t give a definite answer. If lagophthalmos happens, he said he would release it even if it’s months later. / But he said although the right eye is worse, the left eye is already sufficiently sleepy-looking too, and since that’s why I’m having surgery, what’s the point if I don’t do ptosis correction? -Notes: Nothing particular x. No wait at all. Surgery time 1 hour.
I didn’t expect much when I went to ㅂㄴ, but I liked that they looked carefully. But after visiting the next two hospitals, I judged that doing ptosis correction on both sides is right, so I’m deciding between the latter two hospitals..!! I want to do a bit more in-person consultation hunting.
