Hello^^ It’s been almost 10 years since my first rhinoplasty, and I wasn’t sure if something had gone wrong or if it was a side effect, but as time passed my nose kept getting shorter and the sides of my nasal dorsum became bumpy with shape deformity, so I looked into revision rhinoplasty. The place where I had it done has been gone for a long time, so I started looking because I wanted to do it somewhere new, and after consultations, I found out the shape deformity of my nose was from contraction..
Among the places I visited, Cohen’s consultation was good, and I was worried about scarring or contraction after revision rhinoplasty, but they said they could do the revision rhinoplasty and contracted nose correction through an internal open approach without a columellar incision, like a closed approach, so I received revision surgery
When I compare before and after, I can feel a clear difference, so I’m proud..
As it became shorter into a contracted-nose shape, it looked very obviously surgical, gave me a stubborn-looking image, and made me look older, which made me sad, but even though it’s only been two months, when I compare the nose shape like this, I can clearly see the difference and I like it.. Maybe because it was an internal-open revision rhinoplasty, after the splint was removed, the swelling wasn’t severe, and I actually felt recovery was faster than during my first surgery
If you’re looking into revision surgery for a contracted nose like me, or in that kind of situation, don’t rush or feel too impatient and get plenty of consultations until you find a place you like. I also found going around for consultations and doing the legwork bothersome, so I debated for years whether to do it or not, but now I live thinking a lot that I should have gone for consultations earlier and done it sooner..
For my first surgery, they used ear cartilage, septal cartilage, and silicone, but everything used previously was removed, and I wanted to use autologous costal cartilage and donated dermis to make a natural straight-with-soft-curve line that suits my facial contour as much as possible I’m glad the short-nose feel is gone and the nasolabial angle seems naturally refined too^^
Since it was revision rhinoplasty, it wasn’t my first surgery, but I still felt very nervous and worried, yet both the consultant who counseled me and the director who performed the surgery understood my feelings very well and treated me kindly, so I think I was able to go through the surgery comfortably... As a result, I like it so far, but they said it has only been 2 months, so more swelling can go down and it can continue settling I’ll have to keep watching it a bit more, but I’m going to wait with a relaxed mind until it settles, without getting impatient ^^
