Before before before after before Hello On November 29 last year, I had double jaw surgery at Y Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (including square jaw and chin)! I can’t believe I’m already at 6 months,,! hahaha These days, now that I’m 6 months post-op, people around me give me lots of compliments, asking how I dieted for my chin to get so pointed, saying my impression has improved, and so on!
The reason I decided on surgery was that since middle school I had been aware that my jaw protruded, and hearing people around me say I looked masculine always stressed me out... So I had looked into double jaw surgery since I was a student and lived thinking I would definitely do it once I became an adult. Finally, when I was in a position to have surgery, I went for consultations at several hospitals. The last place I visited was Y Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and because the atmosphere was different from the hospitals I had consulted at so far, the explanations were detailed, and the director felt more trustworthy, I scheduled my surgery date right on the consultation day and went through the tests for surgery step by step. That is how I had double jaw surgery and two types of facial contouring!
Honestly, until 3 months after surgery, the swelling was so severe and I sometimes felt a sense of self-loathing about how much my face had changed,,, but as expected, time seems to be the cure. Now I have no regrets at all about the surgery and am spending happy everyday life because I like it so much!! When I went to the hospital for my 6-month checkup, the director was kind and asked how I had been, which made me feel comfortable and grateful. Since I had a masculine face, I hated people seeing my face from the side, and even having my lower face visible to others was stressful, but these days a mask feels more uncomfortable, and no matter how much people see my face from the side, I’m not worried! haha I’m extremely satisfied. And for meals, I can now eat everything except chewy or extremely hard foods! My condition has fully recovered too, and I feel like I’m in the stage of adapting haha
