Hello! I’m now 3 months post-op from double-jaw surgery haha
When puberty started in middle school, I gradually began developing facial asymmetry. As in the photo, my jaw became crooked to the left, and because of that, the left and right jaw lengths became different, giving me a slight protruding lower jaw as well. At first I didn’t realize it, but as people around me increasingly told me my jaw was crooked, I started to become conscious of my jaw with every person I met and thought, “That person probably knows my jaw is asymmetric too but isn’t saying anything because they’re afraid I’ll get hurt, right?” It became a severe complex, so I decided to have surgery! Because I had jaw asymmetry, I didn’t do only double-jaw surgery. I also had two types of facial contouring to address asymmetry of the square jaw and chin together. It seems people usually do double-jaw surgery together with two types of facial contouring~
Anyway, I had surgery on March 5 at Y Oral, and now at 3 months post-op, I was so happy when I heard that I could have the 8 screws placed in my gums removed and that I didn’t have to use elastics or a wafer anymore I thought it would hurt a lot when the screws came out, but aside from a slightly sensitive? feeling, it really didn’t hurt at all! Looking at reviews, everyone says it didn’t hurt at all haha After removing the screws, it definitely felt like the swelling was going down faster! Honestly, because of the screws, food always got stuck everywhere, and the 8 areas kept getting sore one after another, so it hurt so much Now all of that is gone, so things are so comfortable, and I’ve been very happy these days hahaha
A lot of people seem curious about sagging, but because my complex about asymmetry was severe, I didn’t think sagging was a major issue and decided on surgery while taking all of that into account! For home care, I bought a lifting device and use it often, and I also bought a new compression band and try to wear it often when I’m at home! I don’t have any sagging yet, but still, just in case haha The director said about 80% of the swelling has gone down now, so that means this is no longer swelling but actually my cheek fat.. ha hot Then I’ll lose some weight and bring a 6-month review!
