Eye Surgery Reviews

I corrected my deeply sunken, hollow, asymmetrical eyes with fat grafting and eye surgery

Hello! It has been three months since I had revision incisional ptosis correction + lateral and lower canthoplasty + micro-fat grafting to the upper eyelids with Dr. Kim Dae-hwa at Lowell Plastic Surgery. When I wrote my two-month review, I thought almost all the swelling had gone down, but by three months, even the residual swelling had completely disappeared. In particular, the double-eyelid line became much thinner and settled more naturally. Since it was revision eye surgery through an incision, I worried that the line might remain too pronounced or look sausage-like, but now it has become natural and there is almost no burdensome feeling that my eyes look operated on. Before eye surgery, my eyes were asymmetrical with very hollow upper eyelids, making me look tired and sunken, and the double-eyelid lines differed on both sides, so I was very self-conscious whenever I took photos. My eyelid-opening strength was also weak, so I always looked sleepy, but now the micro-fat grafted area above the eyelids has settled naturally and opening my eyes is much easier. The lateral and lower canthoplasty has also settled naturally without looking like I had surgery, so overall my eyes no longer look stuffy and appear more open. They don’t look unnaturally enlarged; they simply feel a little more defined and open than my original eyes, which is what I like most. These days my eyes look defined even without heavy makeup, which is really convenient. When raising children, honestly, I don’t have the energy for a full face of makeup every day lol. Even with just cushion foundation, eyebrows, and lip color, I look less hollow and tired than before, so I’m very satisfied. Now that it’s been three months, I definitely feel that eye surgery shouldn’t be judged only by the early appearance. The line kept changing naturally over one, two, and three months. When I consulted Dr. Kim Dae-hwa, he also seemed to design my eyes to suit my face naturally rather than making them excessively large or creating a heavy double-eyelid line. After three months, I understand even more why he designed them that way. I had many concerns because it was revision eye surgery, and I worried whether I could recover while raising children, but now I feel the micro-fat grafting to the upper eyelids was a really good choice, and I’m very satisfied that everything has settled so naturally. Now, instead of checking each operated area in the mirror, it simply feels familiar, like my own eyes. I’ll keep watching how they settle until around six months :) I hope this three-month progress is helpful to anyone deliberating because of asymmetrical eyes, hollow upper eyelids, or a tired-looking appearance!
