It has now been 7 months since I had double-line correction.
First of all, I’m a man. My natural eyes were slightly protruding, with thin eyelids and long, open-looking eyes, so at all 6 plastic surgery clinics I went to, wherever I went, they all gave me estimates saying my eyes only needed non-incisional sutures. That’s why I feel even more wronged (if my eyes had been difficult to begin with, maybe I could understand, but they were eyes where a double eyelid formed well just by drawing a line. I really regret it. I wish I had brought even one photo from back then. I truly want to turn back time, really.. to exactly 1 year ago.…)
So when I got rhinoplasty, I had double eyelid surgery with natural adhesion at the same time, and I didn’t bring even one photo then. They just held the line with a probe, said, “Oh, I’ll do it like this,” and went straight into surgery (This is my fault. I said I would do it..) Like how when women get eyeliner tattooed on the mucosa, the double eyelid can look thinner, at that time, because they designed the line on my eyelid with a marker and held it, maybe because it was slightly covered by the marker, I guess I couldn’t really feel that it was a high line for male eyes. Usually for men, after just 2-3 weeks, it almost settles into an inner double eyelid, but even after a month, it was a completely high in-out outer double eyelid… (It was 5-6 mm, but because my eyes are protruding and have little fat, I guess it looked high compared to my eyes.)
I thought, ah, something is wrong here, so even after waiting 3 months, I realized it was absolutely not the image I wanted, and I urgently started looking for clinics that lower the line.. The directors I consulted after choosing clinics said it was true that the line was high compared to my eyes, that because it was non-incisional, the swelling had already gone down and there wouldn’t be much change, and that with non-incisional surgery, you don’t necessarily have to wait a full 6 months. So when I was almost at the 5-month mark, I ended up having surgery to lower the line for a price about 4 times higher.. (the start of the disaster) Back then, I didn’t know anything and was only obsessed with lowering the line, so I chose one clinic famous for lowering lines and had it done..
I’m now 7 months post-op. Because the line is lower, my overall facial image is still better than before… But the shape of the line isn’t that good either.. Even though my previous surgery was non-incisional, I think the scarring is quite severe. The front part of the line is bent, and when I close my eyes, the front tissue protrudes.. Because the previous surgery was non-incisional, rather than the surgical scar being two lines, I don’t know why, but the newly incised line is bumpy and wrinkled, and there are many white milia-like bumps between them, and those round bumps haven’t gone away for months.. Could the milia have appeared because I applied too much ointment.? On top of that, maybe because my eyelids had pretty severe pigmentation, the condition looks even messier, and the scars are several times more visible than other people’s. (This really contributes to it too..)
I wasn’t even someone with so-called extreme eyes, or eyes that had undergone repeated revision surgeries several times, and I had never even had an incisional procedure on my eyes before.
Because I didn’t want to face reality, I hadn’t even taken photos for months, but today I tried taking one with the rear camera, and even at 7 months, it still looks like this, so the saying that time is medicine no longer feels useful. I feel so hopeless.. I’m crying. What should I do? My eyelids have severe pigmentation, so they look even messier and the scars are more visible.. People say it mostly gets better after 6 months, but even after enduring 7 months, I don’t think there has been much improvement yet…. Do I have to endure for years, like 2 or 3 years…? This is so hard. There are really no long-term reviews of double-line correction even when I search, so I can’t even hold onto hope.. How did everyone endure this? Because of my eyes, I haven’t even seen my friends or relatives for a year. I’m scared that if I lower my gaze, people will see my grotesque scars. When I go out, I wear horn-rimmed glasses. I’m even scared and my heart pounds at the thought of going to that clinic for a follow-up. I’m sure there are people here who are having a harder time than me, but honestly, I feel like I want to end everything and die. I didn’t know plastic surgery would make me suffer this much. I’m at the point where I want to cut out the scars and redo it from the beginning, but since the line is already low (3-4 mm), if I cut out the scar there, the thin skin would all be gone…. and even if I did it, the eye shape probably wouldn’t be pretty either….? My eyes naturally didn’t have excess skin to begin with… I can’t even place hope in another revision, and I’m stuck unable to do anything. How am I really supposed to endure this… Should I at least get a treatment like toning laser on the pigmented eyelids to make it less noticeable…..
I’m currently living alone and have even secretly taken a leave of absence from school, and whenever I think of my parents, I feel so sorry and only cry. My parents don’t know much about plastic surgery, so they probably don’t know about scars and things like that, and they don’t even know I secretly had revision surgery. When they say, now that time has passed, “Oh son~ your eyes turned out really pretty haha,” seeing that makes me feel so sorry, and it truly tears my heart apart.. I was never the type to cry easily, but for months, to the point where I can’t even go about daily life, I feel like I can’t breathe, like I’m being pulled deep into the sea, and I’m depressed. I really never thought I would become like this because of plastic surgery, and I’ve even developed social avoidance. It is really, really hard, and I only cry. I just want to go back and live with the eyes I had after the non-incisional surgery, when there wasn’t a single scar.. Back then, the line was just a little high for male eyes, but the line was round and pretty, and there was absolutely no scar tissue or scarring.. Should I really keep enduring this… Or they should have turned me away back then.. If they knew the scarring would be this bad, they should have at least stopped me and told me not to do it.
Because I had surgery so recklessly, I can’t blame anyone, and reality really doesn’t feel like living, and it’s hard to handle.
The clinic is just one of the clinics famous for lowering double eyelid lines..
