Before <This is before canthoplasty, almost no makeup!> After <Recent photo> After <One more recent photo!> It’s not as dramatic as a review going from monolid to double eyelid, but when I put the before-and-after photos side by side like this, I do think the canthoplasty turned out naturally well, so I’ll write a review!
Honestly, I don’t think my eyes were objectively unattractive. I’d also heard a lot that my double-eyelid line suited me well, and I thought I’d never have to worry about the size of my eyes in my life. But once I started noticing the horizontal length of my eyes in the mirror, that was all I could see haha My eyes were reasonably large vertically, but compared with the vertical height, I felt the horizontal length was a bit short, so when doing makeup I’d carefully extend my eyeliner long! Ah, I just wish they were a little longer.. I think I thought that every day lol
But there’s a limit to covering it with makeup.. and the more I looked, the more I couldn’t help feeling that both sides looked a bit closed off.. so I decided on posterior lower canthoplasty! Actually, I looked up a lot of posterior lower canthoplasty reviews, and after seeing so many, I naturally started to recognize which clinics were good at canthoplasty and which weren’t, you know? Clinics that weren’t good had that distinctive strong ㄷ-shaped look and seemed unnatural;; and if a place seemed somewhat decent, people said it reattached quickly.. So when researching clinics, what I considered important was -natural posterior lower canthoplasty reviews (whether it becomes ㄷ-shaped or not) -AS period and aftercare I focused on those two points and went around for consultations with my mom lol
After narrowing things down, I went to consultations at a few clinics, and most of them had a 1-year AS period. So I wondered if AS was originally always limited to 1 year, but the clinic where I had surgery said AS could be available for up to 3 years, and since it was a private clinic, I felt like they would take good care of each patient individually.
Most of the consultation managers at the clinics I visited were kind, but the manager at this clinic wasn’t just putting on kindness. She genuinely empathized with my concerns, and even after the consultation she sent me a summary of the consultation by KakaoTalk.. I could feel that she paid attention in many ways. The director’s consultation was exactly meticulous with no unnecessary parts, and maybe because it’s a place specializing in eyes, he looked for a really long time while paying attention to every single millimeter of the canthoplasty! When we came out, my mom said the director’s consultation alone took 40 minutes.. haha
I didn’t know this, but with canthoplasty, apparently even tiny millimeter differences affect the eye shape and complications, right? I just said, please make them long and open-looking no matter what! But he touched and examined the area under my eyes carefully, looking closely at how much room there was and continuously checking the possibility of complications. After the consultation, I liked the director’s and manager’s consultation the best, and the AS period also happened to be the longest.. so while sitting at a cafe with my mom, I think we unanimously decided on the clinic in about 5 minutes? haha
On the day of surgery, my mom had something busy to do, so I went alone. Until the anesthesia fully wore off, the clinic staff took great care of me and told me to rest well before leaving, so I got home without any problems. Maybe because it was only canthoplasty, or because there wasn’t much bleeding.. even on the day of surgery, the swelling wasn’t that severe. By week 1, like in the photo, the swelling had gone down to a completely natural state. When I visited the clinic, the director personally removed the stitches, and seeing them pay attention to every part of the care made me realize why so many people look mainly at private clinics when researching cosmetic surgery lol
Now it’s been over a month since surgery, and everything looks completely natural. I’m satisfied because it didn’t become the ㄷ-shape I worried about, and the horizontal length seems to have naturally increased!! Only a few close friends know I had posterior lower canthoplasty, but friends who don’t know I had surgery keep wondering why my eyes look so much bigger these days, while not thinking I had surgery lololol I’m satisfied because it seems to have come out naturally, just as I wanted hehe
Review photos are important too, but when you research clinics, please make sure to compare things like how much the manager or director will take responsibility for you until the end, whether the consultation is meticulous to the point that it feels almost excessive, and so on before having surgery!!
