There are so many eye clinics, right.. Whenever I passed through Gangnam or Apgujeong, I would newly feel that our country really has a lot of plastic surgery clinics, but while looking into surgery this time, I think I really felt it. Among all those hospitals, my criteria for choosing were review photos + whether the hospital was well known + the director's consultation, etc., and I compared several places overall! Among them, Director Kwak at Louvre had the longest consultation time, and I think I was really drawn in when I saw how he explained every little thing, even drawing pictures in case there was something I didn't understand haha
When I went for consultations at other hospitals, it was just like, "Since you open your eyes with your forehead, do ptosis correction too~ Your eyes are quite small right now, so it would be good to do all the canthoplasties." But Director Kwak asked whether, when I usually took photos, the light in my eyes looked heavily covered, and explained one by one that this was because the strength to open my eyes was weak and why I needed ptosis correction. He also explained all the reasons, saying that because of the inner corners of my eyes, the line I wanted might not come out, so medial epicanthoplasty would be good, and since my eyelids were quite droopy, upper canthoplasty would also be good. He recommended them without being excessive. He also said that because my pupils are larger and clearer than others', it would be a shame if the light in my eyes was covered a lot.. Since it was vacation anyway, I only needed the swelling to go down before going to school, and I was really grateful that the consultant ran around checking the director's schedule and available dates haha
Choosing the hospital wasn't hard, and I immediately discussed it with my mom, booked a date when the director could operate, and had incisional double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction + medial epicanthoplasty + upper canthoplasty lolol Actually, while looking into double eyelid surgery here and there, I saw a lot of comments saying incisional surgery swells more than non-incisional surgery, and the more additional procedures you add, the worse the swelling is. So I prepared myself that I wouldn't be able to leave the house for at least a month, but the swelling wasn't as bad as I expected, and after the stitches were removed, it seemed like it would already be okay by 2 weeks..? Honestly, the swelling didn't even catch my attention, and I was more excited because my eyes had gotten much bigger lolololol
I received the care provided by the hospital well and walked diligently, so even the swelling I had went down quickly. From the one-month mark, I could already see it settling naturally. At first, my parents were unsure and asked whether I really needed double eyelid surgery, but now they're saying they should have let me do it right after graduating middle school and that they're happy their daughter got prettier lolol!!
