Before<surgery before>After<surgery after>After<a direct before-and-after comparison... haha>For 2n years, I lived thinking monolids had their own charm too lol, but I got stressed because my eyes looked small whenever I took photos or no matter how much makeup I did, so I ended up getting double eyelid surgery.
That said, I didn’t want the trendy, big and dramatic semi-out line these days. I wanted an in-out line, but not one that was too high, you know? At first, I just went for consultations a few times at large hospitals I happened to see while riding the subway, but every time I went, it was crowded, the staff were unfriendly.. the consultations were short, and they pressured me hard to get surgery, so I got fed up and realized, ah, large clinics just aren’t right for me.
So a few months later, I started looking mainly into private clinics. At first, I only searched online through apps, but gradually I found out about a cafe called ㅇㅇㅇ, and there they recommended this community, so I ended up coming all the way here lol. It’s much easier to get information here, but the more I learned, the more I felt like I was becoming picky. So I thought I should stop searching online and go to in-person consultations again, and I went to a few places around Apgujeong and Sinsa.
The reason I chose this place among the clinics I consulted with was that it didn’t have that uniquely chaotic atmosphere + they were kind + the director very carefully designed my double eyelid line. I liked those points, and I also felt good that they confidently said aftercare is for 3 years and of course they would show the CCTV footage.
On the day of surgery, when we went over the design again, I told the director again that I wanted an in-out line but not too high. The director also adjusted the line several times so that my opinion could be well reflected, and we coordinated our opinions.
I had non-incisional surgery, and what’s really unusual about my eyes is that my right eye is smaller than my left, you know? The director noticed this and said that to make both sides symmetrical after surgery, only my right eye needed posterior lower canthoplasty. So I trusted the director and went ahead, and the sizes of both sides matched, so I’m really satisfied.
In the beginning, since I had canthoplasty and double eyelid surgery together, I had some bruising, but that disappeared quickly after the stitches were removed, and I think the swelling recovered faster than I expected without much difficulty. The post-op photos I uploaded now were taken at the one-month mark, okay? Even before that, I had already been doing makeup and washing my face thoroughly, and by one month, it had pretty much settled, to the point that even someone seeing me for the first time wouldn’t realize it hadn’t been long since my surgery.
Comparing my eyes before surgery with my eyes now, I feel like my overall eye shape has completely changed.. Before, whenever I took photos, my eye size would disappear, so I was busy enlarging them, but now I don’t even make that effort lol. Makeup also suits me much better with just a little eyeshadow, so I’m really satisfied.. Most of all, I like it even more because I got the in-out line I wanted, one that isn’t too high.
There are probably people here who have eyes similar to my pre-surgery eyes, and even though semi-out lines are trendy these days, I posted this because I hope everyone will stay firm and choose a double eyelid line that suits their own eye shape. I hope everyone’s surgery goes well!
