Cheekbone Surgery Reviews

Changed from a crescent moon face to a face with dimension

Hello, it has already been 4 months since my double jaw surgery!! Before surgery, my face was generally rather flat, and especially when I smiled, my underbite stood out more, so from the side it looked like a half-moon shape. 🌛 Something like that? Also, because I had prominent cheekbones and an underbite on top of that, when I tied my hair up people said I looked like a tomboy, and I had a rather masculine image and a strong impression. So on March 9 I had double jaw surgery and contouring surgery at Ya Oral Surgery, including 3 contour procedures (cheekbones, square jaw, chin)! As for my appearance after surgery, at 2 months friends who knew I had had surgery said there was still swelling in the front cheek and nasolabial area, but now that 3 months have passed, 7 out of 8 people say it seems like the swelling is all gone, and maybe 1 person said there still seems to be a little swelling left around the nasolabial area. To be honest, I also thought most of it had gone down, but the director said, and I agreed, that a little more swelling still needs to go down. In terms of image, before surgery I had a somewhat mature look for my age, but after surgery, with the chin tucked in and the contour surgery making my impression softer, people kept saying, 'Why do you look so much cuter now?' lol I feel it too, but I can definitely tell I look younger. It really is a very satisfying surgery!!! In terms of physical stamina, around the 2-month mark I felt like my body was finally returning to normal! During weeks 1 to 3, even walking a little would make me short of breath and I could feel my heart racing, but now when I walk I do not feel short of breath or my heart racing. It feels like I have completely returned to my pre-surgery stamina. Now at 3 months, I can feel sensation in everything. I saw reviews saying that when you gently press the cheekbones or chin with a finger, it feels tingly, and now I understand what that means. Still, that tingling means the feeling is alive, so I want to recover quickly! It does not cause any inconvenience in daily life, but for the chin area they said I may need to wait up to a year. With double jaw plus contouring, I really think waiting for recovery is a big part of it. As for food, by 2 months, if I really could not eat something, I felt like I might collapse and the stress would be even greater, so I ate within a range that would not strain my jaw. I also saw guidelines for what you can eat from weeks 1 to 8, and those were good too, but I could not hold back, so I tried it first and stopped eating it if it hurt. If it hurts, that means it is straining the jaw. After a little over 2 months, honestly I do not think there was anything I could not eat. I could eat pork belly, mala tang, tteokbokki.. everything. But after not eating spicy food for 2 months and then suddenly eating greasy, spicy food, I got 2 or 3 pimples the very next day. If you want spicy food, instead of eating a lot in one day, it seems better to slowly increase the amount and eat it over a longer period of time so your body can adapt, and then you do not gain weight and it is not hard on your skin either. Also, before surgery I could eat mala tang at level 3 and even buli chicken was pretty tasty to me, but after surgery, now mala tang at level 1.5 is about my limit, and with buli chicken, just one bite makes it immediately spicy.. I am a little over 3 months post-op now, and I can even eat raw cucumber. They say you have to be careful until 6 months, but if I take small bites, it is fine for me. I think my recovery is a bit fast. Looking at my pre-op and post-op photos now, it feels even clearer that I made the right choice. For those of you reading this review after surgery, I hope you focus on recovery with the thought that time is the answer, and for those of you wondering whether to get surgery, I hope my previous review and this one were helpful.
