First, to roughly describe my eyes: I had double eyelids done 6 years ago with an in-out non-incisional buried suture method, and I was satisfied! But since it was buried suture, by year 4 the line had become an in-out line that was almost close to an inline crease, which was disappointing. Another clinic said that if I only did an upper epicanthoplasty, the eye line would show well again, so I did it.. sigh. One eye’s double eyelid came undone (they said it had originally loosened.. tsk), and the other side didn’t match my original double-eyelid line, so the line just looked really weird..
In conclusion, I went to 4 places for eye revision consultations, and they all said, in a nice roundabout way, that only the upper epicanthoplasty scar remained and it didn’t help at all.. They also all recommended incisional double eyelid surgery, but the line was almost always in-out (I wanted semi-out, but since all 4 places said it probably wouldn’t suit me.. I guess it isn’t right They also said the distance between my eyes and eyebrows is a bit close). Probably because I had the upper epicanthoplasty done by incision. When I went to 8 places for my first double-eyelid surgery consultations, some places mentioned ptosis correction, but these clinics this time all didn’t recommend it. They said my eye-opening strength is a little weak, but not to that extent. I liked that all 4 places didn’t force anything unnecessary.

1. ㄸㅋ Director ㄱㅎㅅ I had the highest expectations going in because there were a lot of good reviews, but they told me to consider a forehead lift later. I went at 10 in the morning, and it took almost 2 hours.. I waited a long time for the consultant and a long time for the director. Even after the director’s consultation ended, there was another very long wait for the consultant.. But the director was really kind and explained things in detail for almost 15-20 minutes. The consultant.. as the reviews said, friendliness was.. um.. The counter staff too.. haha
Surgery recommendations: - Recommended incisional double eyelid surgery - Said they didn’t recommend any canthoplasty and that simply resetting the double-eyelid line would be enough. - Because the distance between my eyes and eyebrows is close, they recommended a forehead lift, but told me to consider it later. They said just doing the eyes now should be fine as long as I’m not too greedy with the line.
No pressure at all. They just gave me several options and told me to think about them. They created several line options for me, and I liked them!
2. ㅍㄹㅇㅂ - Director ㅇㅈㅇ The consultant was very kind. The director was also kind, but somehow.. rushed.. That doesn’t mean the explanation wasn’t detailed. They were also very confident! There was almost no wait!
Surgery recommendations: - Recommended incisional double eyelid surgery - Said the upper epicanthoplasty had no effect and only left a scar, so they suggested opening it just a little again - When I asked whether they recommended the other canthoplasties, they said not to do anything except the upper epicanthoplasty
There was no pressure here either, and they gave several options. They said the upper epicanthoplasty is something I’d do only if I want it; if I don’t want it, I should just do the double eyelid. But they said the line I want wouldn’t come out, and showed me the difference between the line with and without upper epicanthoplasty. It definitely looked much better with the epicanthoplasty. Among the 4 places, I liked the line here the most.
3. ㅇㅇㅋㅌ - Director ㅇㅅㅎ (single-doctor eye-specialty clinic) Here too, both the consultant and director were kind and only talked about what was truly necessary. They didn’t bring up things that seemed unnecessary at all, so when I asked first about canthoplasty and various things, they didn’t recommend any of them. There was a bit of a wait, though.

No pressure here either. They made the line exactly as much as I asked for. They adjusted both sides in great detail. Reviews said to go here if you want something natural, and it really was natural! If you want something glamorous, I think they’d match your needs well, but I liked that they still clearly recommended what suits your eyes. This was my second favorite in terms of the line they made!
4. ㅇㅇㄱㄹ - I don’t remember the director’s name, but it’s a single-doctor clinic. The wait was pretty long.. There was only one director, but there were already 3 people waiting, 3 consultation rooms, and I also saw someone going in for surgery.. Watching that, I wondered whether a one-person clinic could handle all that. The consultant was okay, and the director was really kind. They tried hard to explain things too, but.. just as they looked busy, they really were busy. It felt like they were pressed for time.. For the eye line, they only made one side 2 or 3 times, and for the other side they either made it once or didn’t make it (I don’t remember, but I’m sure they kept doing only one eye). Since it was so obvious they were rushed, I also felt rushed and couldn’t ask what I wanted to ask.. I wanted to ask them to make the line more too, but it was just hard.. I was already tired because there was also some waiting.
Surgery recommendations: - Recommended incisional double eyelid surgery - Like #1 and #3, said they don’t really recommend canthoplasty - But they said my eyes seem to come undone easily, so they would make the fixation somewhat stronger.
I clearly said I had double-eyelid surgery once with buried sutures and only an incisional upper epicanthoplasty, but they kept explaining several times that since it had already come undone twice, I had eyes that come undone easily.. Aside from one buried-suture side coming undone, my incisional upper epicanthoplasty is still the same, so I didn’t really understand what they meant had come undone.. I wanted to ask more, but they were so busy that asking questions felt difficult.. Still, they were kind, and the line they made was okay too.. I just didn’t feel drawn to the place.
Conclusion: Except for ㅍㄹㅇㅂ, the rest all recommended only incisional eye revision surgery. Price order for incision, excluding upper epicanthoplasty: ㄸㅋ>>>ㅍㄹㅇㅂ>ㅇㅇㄱㄹ>>>ㅇㅇㅋㅌ
* For reference, I ended up doing it at ㅇㅇㅋㅌ! Price was one reason, but I was just drawn to this place. It’s not that I absolutely loved the line they made, but they explained things well and tried their best to match my needs within what suited my eyes, so good. I did it incisional, but I was surprised because the swelling was similar to when I had buried sutures. I am worried that the line might become too natural later because of that.. but for now, even while swollen, I’m very satisfied with the line itself..
Everyone, definitely go to several places for consultations! I didn’t have time, so I really did a lot of online research and went to the places I was most drawn to.
