Before-before, after-after. My parents and friends always told me to open my eyes wider, and even when I took photos that way, the horizontal length of my eyes was longer than other people’s, which made me look sharp, so I wanted to fix that. I had surgery with buried-suture double eyelid surgery.
My criteria for choosing a clinic were: 1. Whether the line I wanted could be achieved 2. If the line I wanted was not suitable for my eyes, whether they would tell me honestly 3. Whether they would avoid recommending additional surgery
I went to a total of 3 clinics, and at 2 of them, they said they recommended epicanthoplasty and ptosis correction to achieve the eye shape I wanted. But Director Kim Do-hoon at Tobi Plastic Surgery explained the double eyelid shape in the photo I brought in relation to my nose, said that my current eye-opening strength was good so I did not need ptosis correction, and said that because a thick double eyelid would probably not suit my current face shape, he would lower the line to create natural-looking eyes.
What I wanted to improve with surgery was that my eyes were horizontally long, and I was worried that this might negatively affect my first impression, so I wanted to improve it.
Until before the 1-month mark, my eyes looked so intense that when I took photos, I wondered if I had done double eyelid surgery for no reason. But after passing the 1-month mark, the line settled in and became completely natural, like my own eyes. The director’s judgment was completely right, and the double eyelid became a perfect fit for my eyes. So even a friend who had said around 2 weeks after double eyelid surgery that it looked a little unnatural now compliments me, saying it has become so natural. Before double eyelid surgery, I did not like my eyes, so I did not take many selfies, but after the surgery, I feel a little less resistant to taking selfies. I’m really looking forward to and excited by the fact that I’ll be able to take lots of selfies from now on!!
