Before <front>Before <left>Before <right>After <front>After <left>After <right>I originally planned to get orthodontic treatment because I was stressed in my early 20s about my long chin, underbite, and protruding mouth. But when I actually went for an orthodontic consultation, the dental clinic said that orthodontics alone would not produce a major change, and that I would need two-jaw surgery to get the results I wanted, so I decided to save money for two-jaw surgery!
So I had two-jaw surgery last July, and it has now been 6 months. At the time of surgery, I was very swollen and had a lot of numbness, so I worried a lot. Also, I had cheekbone surgery and genioplasty together with two-jaw surgery, so I was worried because the swelling was more than I expected,,
Now that 6 months have passed, I am very satisfied! The most important thing is that my underbite is gone! Also, because of my protruding mouth, I used to get very tense whenever I felt like people’s gaze was going to my mouth. Now I don’t feel those looks, and I’m happy that I no longer have stress about my protruding mouth.
Also, people worry a lot about sensation after two-jaw surgery. In my case, immediately after surgery, I had almost all sensation on the right side of my face, and the left side became very dull.
Now my sensation has all returned, to the point that I can feel even a tiny water droplet!! I heard that how much sensation improves after two-jaw surgery depends on the surgeon’s skill. Seeing that a friend around me still says their sensation is slightly reduced after surgery made me quietly feel grateful to my doctor.
