Nose Surgery Reviews

A textbook clinic review

This was my first rhinoplasty, and I had a bulbous, crooked, and dorsal-hump nose, so I went for a consultation. After examining my nose, the doctor recommended preserving the hump rather than automatically shaving it down to make the nose straight. For improving the bulbous nose, he suggested removing fat and gathering the cartilage; for the long nose, he suggested cartilage repositioning, and also recommended alar reduction. Overall, the doctor seemed to prefer natural-looking noses. During the consultation, he explained that some people these days intentionally preserve the hump for a natural appearance, and for my nose he focused on realistic improvements rather than changing it too artificially. The consultation felt quite realistic and was satisfactory. The price was definitely low compared with other places. Compared with other hospitals where I had consultations, some differed by two or three times, so I felt the price was a clear advantage. I am not someone who thinks one must choose an expensive place, so the cost was quite reasonable. However, because this was my first rhinoplasty, I wanted a somewhat more glamorous and definite change rather than a very natural nose. The doctor’s recommendation was not bad, but it differed somewhat from the style I wanted, so I passed for now. If you want a natural, not-overdone nose or do not necessarily want to remove the entire hump, it may be worth getting a consultation. The price was especially advantageous compared with other places.
