SMILE LASIK review!

Leaving a review about one month after getting SMILE LASIK at the end of July. While I was looking into clinics for LASIK, LASEK, and SMILE LASIK, I saw reviews from people who had LASEK saying the pain was too much, so I chose SMILE LASIK because it was said to be less painful. But with SMILE LASIK, you first have to get tested to see whether your eyes are suitable. In particular, since SMILE LASIK is performed using a machine called VisuMax from the German company Carl Zeiss, you need to check carefully whether the clinic uses VisuMax. While researching clinics, I found a director who was the first to introduce SMILE LASIK in Korea, and after watching a YouTube video saying even the director’s daughter had it done, I felt I could trust them and chose that ophthalmology clinic. I had the surgery done by the chief director. My concern was that because of dry eyes, I couldn’t keep my eyes open for more than 20 seconds, but SMILE LASIK requires you to keep your eyes open for about 25 seconds, so I was very worried. However, during the consultation, the director listened to my concerns, reassured me, and made me feel comfortable, so I trusted the director and followed along, and the surgery ended successfully. Once the anesthetic drops went into my eyes, I didn’t feel like closing them during the surgery. Also, on the day of surgery, you should bring a hat and sunglasses. Right after surgery, my vision was blurry and I couldn’t open my eyes wide, but because of the anesthesia, there was no pain. After I got home and put in the medication, my eyes gradually started to sting, tear up, and feel heavy, but once I slept, I didn’t feel the pain. On the first day, my vision was better than before, but it looked slightly blurry, as if something was covering my eyes. From day 2, I could see well, and I was able to return to daily life right away. At night, there was some glare around things like streetlights, but I’m gradually getting used to it and it’s improving. Since I can see so well, it feels like I’m living at home with contact lenses on all the time, so I’m very satisfied. There’s no foreign-body sensation from lenses, only the clarity and dryness like with lenses, so I keep thinking I should have done it earlier. When I open my eyes in the morning, they feel a bit heavy, but I’m experiencing a whole new world, and even when showering everything is so clear that it feels like I’m wearing lenses, which is convenient. I love not wearing glasses. The surgery ended quickly, and I can see well with almost no pain, so I’m extremely satisfied. I’d recommend it to people I know. Now that a month has passed, I do have dry eyes when I wake up in the morning and occasionally when my eyes feel stiff, but at those times I just put in artificial tears. The glare has also improved a lot.
