Eye Surgery Reviews

[Clinic A] community review

This is where my daughter had revision eye surgery four years ago.

Her first double-eyelid surgery created a sausage-shaped eyelid because the line was set too high. Since she was young, she had a habit of opening her eyes using her forehead.

We consulted four one-doctor clinics known for eye surgery. Clinics A, B, and C recommended ptosis surgery, saying that the muscles that open her eyes were weak. Only Clinic D said the eye-opening muscles were fine and that it was a habit.

Because she repeatedly opened her eyes with her forehead, the eyelid between her eyebrows and eyes had become very loose. Since the loose eyelid kept covering her eyes, she tried to open them wider using her forehead muscles, and the habit gradually became fixed.

In any case, they explained that ptosis surgery was unnecessary and that folding the loose eyelid through double-eyelid surgery would allow her to open her eyes sufficiently without using her forehead. We had the surgery at Clinic D.

However, the double-eyelid line was set too high, creating sausage-shaped eyelids. At first I thought the swelling was simply lasting a long time, but after a year I realized that this was the final result, haha.

We then scheduled consultations at three more clinics, and the second one we visited was [Clinic A].

They said there was no problem with my child’s eye-opening muscles. However, unless the habit of constantly opening her eyes with her forehead was corrected, the area operated on for the double eyelids might not fold beautifully. They recommended regular forehead Botox to prevent forehead movement, so she could open her eyes using only her eyes.

They said the line had indeed been set too high, and that the previous line needed to be loosened as much as possible before creating a new line below it. They explained that when her eyes were open, the scar would be hidden inside the double-eyelid fold, but when her eyes were closed, the scar from the previous line would be visible on close inspection.

They explained everything this way, were kind, and answered enough of our questions. My child is rather timid, but she said they were very kind even inside the operating room.

It has now been four years since surgery. As explained, the old line scar is visible when she closes her eyes, but I suppose that cannot be helped.

The doctor was kind, and the surgical result is good. The result is natural and the line is pretty.

I still wish we had chosen this clinic for the first surgery.

I don’t remember the exact surgical cost because it was a long time ago, but I remember it was around that amount because it was revision surgery to release the previous line.
