The silicone inflammation that I thought would never happen to me started a week ago. On the second day after noticing the inflammation, I went to a nearby clinic, got antibiotics, and then went to the clinic where I had surgery. They said there was no need to remove the silicone...? They said it would improve with medication and that just because inflammation happened once, it would not happen again. They said it did not need to be removed for something like this. But once I had experienced inflammation, I became so scared and anxious. I thought inflammation would never completely disappear unless the implant was removed. The surrounding tissue could melt or contracture could develop because of inflammation, right? That terrified me. I hurried to a clinic said to be famous for removals, and I also booked one of the so-called top three clinics, but I could not wait that long, so I had the surgery the day before yesterday! At the removal clinic, they said inflammation is an extreme emergency, antibiotics only slightly calm the symptoms and do not completely cure the inflammation, waiting day by day is dangerous, and my nose could become retracted. They scared me so much that I rushed into surgery, but I do not regret it. I hope this helps people in this community who are considering removal because of inflammation, so I will write about what I worried about and my surgical review. It has only been two days since removal, but it was completely different from rhinoplasty. This was my first surgery, and about a year and a half after that first surgery, inflammation developed around the bridge between my eyes, so I had only the silicone removed through a closed approach. 1. During my first surgery, my eyes were so swollen that I could not open them until days four or five, but this time there is no swelling at all except around my nose. The doctor even said there would be so little swelling that I could take the morning off and work in the afternoon. (But working on the day of surgery is impossible because of the packing.) 2. It is only day two, but I already removed the tape, and they said I can gently wash my face starting tomorrow. I am amazed because there is hardly any recovery period compared with my first surgery. 3. However, I still have a lot of runny nose and congestion even after removing the packing. They manipulated the mucous membrane, so it seems to have swollen. 4. I was worried that removing the silicone would leave a severe step, but perhaps because of the swelling, there is no step at all and it looks natural. I had used autologous costal cartilage, ear cartilage, and silicone. Anyway, I will tell you if the things I worried about are resolved as I recover. I suffered so much mentally, but now I feel relieved. Let us stay healthy and live beautifully!
