At first, I was quite stressed because I went from place to place for consultations while researching clinics I only wanted the necessary procedures, but some places recommended adding this and that, so the overtreatment made the whole process of finding a clinic exhausting. Still, my mom is very afraid of surgery, so I researched as carefully as possible before deciding. Looking back, I think we made a good choice. On the day of surgery, I took a day off and went with her because I was worried about sending her alone. When I saw her after surgery, she looked better than expected, so I was a little surprised too. I had read that lower eyelid surgery can cause quite severe bruising and swelling, so I initially expected her face to be very swollen for several days. Fortunately, she did not swell much and the bruising was not severe. I had heard that the procedure was performed while minimizing tissue damage, and seeing her directly made me understand what that meant. From the next day, we walked together on the path near home without overexerting her. We started at about 30 minutes, then gradually increased it to about an hour when she felt fine. My mom also paid close attention to her recovery. She regularly used the ice packs and pumpkin extract I prepared for her and took her medication properly. After a few days, I could visibly see the swelling going down little by little. Since I could see the changes day by day, I kept checking her progress. I also liked that the director personally checked her condition at every follow-up. Even when questions came up, they checked them directly, which made me feel much more at ease. By the time the stitches were removed, most of the swelling had gone down, and it was not very noticeable unless you looked closely. Everyone recovers at a different speed, but I was relieved that her recovery was better than expected. Now the area under her eyes looks almost completely settled, and she looks much neater than before. What I learned while preparing for my mom's surgery is that choosing a clinic for eye surgery requires very careful consideration. Rather than comparing only prices, I think it is good to look into surgical experience and follow-up checks as well. Now that about two weeks have passed since my mom's surgery, I finally feel a little relieved too.
