One year after double-jaw surgery!! I now love the profile I used to hide because of my protruding jaw

Hello! I am a patient who underwent double-jaw surgery with Dr. Shin Hee-jin at Lee Yoo Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. It is still amazing that a whole year has already passed since surgery. Before surgery, I was always self-conscious about my profile because of my protruding jaw and paid close attention to angles whenever photos were taken, but now I live without that stress. Immediately after surgery, my face was very swollen, and nasal congestion and the wafer were uncomfortable. At first each day felt long, but after two to three weeks the swelling and discomfort gradually decreased, and from about one month onward daily life became much easier. As time passed, I could see my facial contours settling naturally. After a few months, almost none of the discomfort remained, to the point that I could forget I had surgery. Now I can eat comfortably and nothing in my everyday life particularly bothers me. As orthodontic treatment entered its final stage, my bite felt stable, and with almost all the facial swelling gone, it feels as though my face has fully settled. Comparing old and current photos makes the change even clearer. I am especially happy that I no longer feel burdened by the profile that stressed me most. I used to worry whenever someone took a photo from the side or suddenly photographed me, but now taking photos is much more comfortable and I enjoy keeping pictures of myself. People around me often say my face looks smaller or my impression has become softer, but what satisfies me most is that I have gained confidence in my appearance. Seeing my face settle more naturally over time makes my early worries feel unnecessary. I recovered while having follow-ups with Dr. Shin Hee-jin throughout the year, and after each uncomfortable part passed, I am now living very comfortably. Since it was a major surgery, I had many doubts before deciding, but looking back, the time I have spent satisfied after surgery has been much longer than the time I spent worrying beforehand. Even if I went back to before surgery, I think I would choose double-jaw surgery again. I want to finish orthodontic treatment well and enjoy maintaining this appearance for a long time. Haha
