This was my upper arm before getting Cat injections. Loose T-shirts made me look extremely large, while anything even slightly tight made my upper-arm fat look as if it would burst out. I had almost no muscle—pure 100% fat—so it looked even fuller. This summer was incredibly hot, right? Every day I faced the deadly choice between wearing thin, short clothes and worrying about my arms all day, or wearing loose clothes and sweating heavily.
I have chosen the former a few times, putting on a brave face, but once I saw my body in a full-length mirror at a cafe in Hongdae, I was horrified. I usually believe in eating delicious food and enjoying life as long as I do not look excessively overweight, so I was not particularly thinking about dieting. But the more I watched my arms, the more excessive they seemed, so I decided to discipline them.
I looked into treatments available only for the upper arms to improve their shape with money. I researched everything from cost-effective treatments to surgery. I passed on the cheaper treatments because reviews said the results return quickly, and I passed on surgery because wearing compression garments and dealing with post-surgery injections in summer sounded like a huge ordeal.
That left fat-dissolving injections, but there were so many types and prices that narrowing them down was difficult. I asked all my nearby friends whether they attended any clinic. One friend said she had received contouring injections at [Clinic A] and had good results, so I considered going there. I compared that information with what I found in this community, carefully read reviews, installed apps to gather reviews from different places, and read the detailed pages thoroughly. I drove because it was near Apgujeong Rodeo Station; there is a valet fee, so please note that haha.
When I booked, they asked whether I wanted a date allowing same-day treatment. I said I would start with a consultation. The consultant explained things convincingly. They assured me that it contained no steroids or PPC and had even received approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, starting with safety certification. They said that because I had no muscle, I might notice the fat reduction more, that there was almost no downtime, and that they would later check the contour to see how much had been reduced.
Anyway, I have now had two Cat injections in my upper arms. After the first session I only wondered whether they had become a little thinner, but after the second session the effect seemed much more visible. When there is a lot of upper-arm fat, you look bigger and feel weighed down, but the overall volume decreased, making me feel smaller. I liked that it did not only disappear where the injections were given or look uneven; the circumference decreased naturally overall. I think it worked better because mine was pure fat rather than muscle, and drinking lots of water as instructed probably helped too. If your arms are not muscular and are just loose, pure fat, you will probably see good results from fat-dissolving injections haha.
