My biggest concern was always my face shape, which had wide cheekbones and a lot of empty space. Even when I lost weight, my cheekbones still stood out, and in photos my face looked wide, which stressed me out, so I ended up getting contouring triple set surgery (cheekbone reduction + square jaw + chin). Consultation What I wanted was not just a smaller face no matter what, but a face shape where the cheekbones were softly refined and the overall proportions including the square jaw and chin felt naturally balanced. During the consultation, the doctor looked at my face shape and explained specifically what parts I wanted and what parts would actually be good to improve, and I liked that they were designing the overall contour balance instead of looking at only one part. So after the consultation I decided on surgery without much more hesitation. Before surgery From the front, my cheekbones were wide and there was a lot of empty space in my face, and from the side too, the cheekbones and jaw line looked a little rough, which was what bothered me most. Day 2 It was day 2 after surgery, so the swelling was really severe At that point my face was so swollen that I even thought, 'Did I worry for nothing?' Still, since it was right after surgery, I decided to wait for the swelling to go down rather than focus on the result. Day 6 There was still quite a lot of swelling, but I started seeing small changes. At first I worried because the swelling was not going down as much as I expected, but after a few days I could see my face gradually settling, which made me feel relieved. 2 weeks After about 2 weeks, it was clearly different. There was still some residual swelling, but my cheekbones were less prominent than before and my face width looked reduced. Especially from the front, the reduced empty space made my face shape look much softer, which I liked. 1 month After about a month, the initial swelling had gone down a lot. From that point, people around me started saying my face looked different, and I also kept comparing it with how I looked before surgery every time I looked in the mirror. I liked that the line from my cheekbones to my chin felt naturally connected. 4 months By around 4 months, my face had settled quite naturally. At first I worried about how the result would look because of the swelling, but as time passed, I liked that the cheekbones, square jaw, and chin did not look separate, but instead seemed unified into one overall face shape. 6 months It’s already been 6 months since the contouring triple set surgery! Around month 5 I thought most of the swelling had already gone down, but by month 6, as the residual swelling decreased a bit more, the line seems even more defined. Compared with my pre-op photos, the face width and empty space have decreased from the front, and from the side the cheekbone and jaw line look much softer, which I’m most satisfied with. What I like most is that instead of my face becoming drastically smaller, my original vibe stayed mostly the same while the contours were neatly refined. Just looking at the day 2 photos, the swelling was so severe that I was worried, but when I compared the photos from day 2 -> day 6 -> 2 weeks -> 1 month -> 4 months -> 6 months, it was amazing to see the face shape keep changing as the swelling went down. For anyone considering contouring triple set surgery, I think it’s important not to worry too much about the early swelling and to watch the progress over time. Now that I’ve reached the 6-month result, I’m satisfied because it’s close to the naturally refined face shape I wanted during consultation:)
