I had braces when I was young, and recently I went in to have my retainer repaired and also got scaling. I had orthodontic treatment without extraction to save my teeth, but maybe because of that it feels like I was slightly undercorrected, which is a bit disappointing. Also, there was a lot of tartar stuck on the fixed retainer on the lower teeth for a long time, and I regret having lived for years without knowing it. (If it has been a long time since your orthodontic treatment, I recommend going to the dentist and getting scaling.) And if you are considering braces, please keep in mind that you may have to wear a retainer for life..
