I finally have a nose surgery review too lol I had 4 mm silicone on the bridge and donor rib cartilage, and it’s been a little over a month!! To start with the conclusion, when I look from the side now, the line from the bridge to the tip feels so much more distinct than before that the presence is on a completely different level! Before, when I took side-profile photos, my nose was so low that my face was flat as it gets, but now there is actual dimensionality, so the empty space in my face looks smaller and my impression looks much more refined?? My nose is a bit short and low, so seeing my nostrils from the front had been a lifelong complex. So when I went for the consultation with Director Choo Seong-cheol at Shinsa D-Day, I made it very clear: "Please make sure it does not look like a pinched nose, but also definitely get rid of the short-nose look!" The director said the tip needed to be brought down by building a solid support with donor rib cartilage, and looking at it now, the tip definitely came down and the elegant straight-but-slightly-curved look came out nicely lol
Honestly, for a few days right after surgery, I was breathing through my mouth, my throat got sore, and it was so hard I wondered if I had done the wrong thing.. But as the swelling went down and I saw the bridge line emerge, it was worth all the trouble He preserved volume at the tip without making it look pinched at all, so even friends who knew I had surgery said the line came out really well and it suits me perfectly lol
I went with a combination of septal cartilage and donor rib cartilage, and for cases like mine where the nose is short and support is needed, this combo seems really stable!! Since it is a one-doctor clinic, I liked the fact that the director personally handled everything from consultation to follow-up checks! The tip still feels a bit heavy and the remaining swelling still needs to go down, but the overall silhouette came out exactly the way I wanted!!
