I’m on day 16 today~~~ I’m feeling a bit more alive, so I’m leaving a review
“Agugi Part 1” I’ll tell you a real, unvarnished review, come on in~!
[Q&A] Why did you get surgery? I’ve disliked my jaw since I was little. It was extremely square… My nickname was “Square’s Dream.” People often said my eyes, nose, and mouth were pretty, but they also kept saying my face shape looked a bit masculine…. So whenever I took photos, I’d always edit my jawline first, and even when taking pictures with other people, I’d cover my jaw with my hand every time…. I felt like this jaw was lowering my confidence, and I wondered if it was even more noticeable because of my weight, so I lost 30 kg, but my jaw stayed the same.. If anything, it stood out more. Well, of course, it’s bone After thinking about it for a long time, I made up my mind: if I’m going to do it, I should do it at the age when I’ll look the prettiest, in my 20s!!
[Q&A] Which clinic did you look into? Since it was a major surgery, I booked consultations at the 3 places I was most drawn to! The moment I visited the first clinic, I thought, is this the one? You know that feeling, right? That sense of “this is it!”? While I was consulting with the manager, she asked which clinic I was going to next. When I told her, she said that one of the clinics I planned to visit used to have Dr. ㅇㄷㅊ there in the past, before he left… I thought I should consider it a bit more and visit the other one too, but after meeting the director, I just put down the deposit right away. He came in with a super cute little hat and a bright smile, and while touching my jaw and looking at the CT scan, he drew on the CT and explained everything one by one, in a way that even someone like me, who knows nothing, could understand The doctor is truly an angel among angels. And during the consultation, he only said exactly what needed to be said, and clearly said no when something couldn’t be done. I was worried he might talk in a way that was too long and hard to follow.. but he explained everything so clearly, one by one, and if I didn’t understand, he would explain it again so I could understand properly Since he said he had about 20 years of experience in contour surgery and orthognathic surgery, I trusted him a lot more!!! Even on the day of surgery, he smiled and told me not to worry, that he would do it safely and beautifully, and I trusted him 100,000%.
•Surgery list: contour trio, including long-curved square jaw surgery, cortical bone resection, masseter reduction, T osteotomy, 45-degree cheekbone, 3D cheekbone.
•Day of surgery I was more scared of anesthesia than the surgery itself, so I worried a lot, but thankfully the anesthesia went very smoothly and comfortably. The doctor also reassured me not to worry, and the other doctors and staff were all kind and nice. After the surgery ended, I was lying in the recovery room, and I was so, so cold, my throat felt like it was going to tear, and my gums were so swollen they were sticking out. Still, I felt happy because it seemed like my face had gotten smaller…. I thought, the painful time is over now! All that’s left is becoming prettier, and I endured it...
•After I gradually came to my senses, I rode in a wheelchair to my private hospital room. The nurse had already turned on a warm electric blanket for me, kept coming and going to replace the ice packs, and when I said I wanted water, she said I couldn’t have any yet and would get it to me at 11. I just kept looking at my phone’s clock, and wow… I had no idea time could go by this slowly… It was the longest night in the world. There was YouTube on the hospital tablet, so I turned it on, and lol the search history showed “post-contour surgery regret,” and even though I was in pain, I laughed lol How bad does it have to hurt for someone to search that?
•I hadn’t even pressed the bell, but at exactly 11 they brought me water, and since the nurses were veterans, there was nothing more to say. (Other than fighting the pain by myself…) I kept waking up in the middle of the night, sleeping 30 minutes and waking up again, with this nauseous feeling like I might throw up, plus the urge to cough, a scratchy throat, and a stuffy nose = I was losing my mind... While sleeping, I couldn’t close my mouth, so my throat, which already hurt, got even drier and felt like it was tearing. I’d wake up from the pain, moisten my mouth with just a tiny drop of water like an ant’s pee, lie back down, pass out, then wake up again 30 minutes later, wet my mouth again, and keep repeating that over and over. Then I felt like I needed to go to the bathroom, so I got up and went, and the moment I saw the mirror I almost screamed… my face had really become tiny like a bean sprout… I was honestly so happy I felt like I could fly. (After going to the bathroom, I went back to sleep, and I dreamed that my jaw returned to how it was before…. so I dreamed I was going back to surgery again.) I don’t even want to think about it lol phew
* Day 1 I woke up in the morning to be discharged, drank water, and was so hungry that I drank one NewCare, then lay down. My mom came and talked with me for a bit, and then I felt like I was going to throw up. I debated whether I would actually throw up or not like 10,000 times, then held a trash can and threw up. Then I felt okay again…. That’s when the pain started. Phlegm kept sliding down the back of my throat so I couldn’t sleep, and my jaw was throbbing. When I got home, I thought pumpkin porridge was impossible, absolutely impossible to eat, but by evening I really felt like I might collapse if I kept going like this, so I ordered a persimmon smoothie from Ediya and drank it, and I thought, “Wow, this is it.” Even now I still only drink persimmon. If you feel like you can’t eat anything, try a persimmon smoothie (the Ediya one). If you eat too little before taking medicine and then take it, my stomach hurts…
* Day 2 Wow, everyone said day 3 would hurt, but for me, on day 2, I felt like I was going to die…. It wasn’t so much the bone pain or facial pain as the constant coughing…. When I coughed, it felt like pressure was going to my face, and I worried something might go wrong… But if I tried to hold it in, tears would just stream down and the cough would burst out with a “kueeeeeek”…. From here, the cough-and-phlegm war began… I can’t sleep.. If I try to sleep, I cough and phlegm comes up… I don’t get clots of blood like on day 1, but that makes it look bright red… Even though I was taking cough medicine, it didn’t help… (I got cold medicine prescribed remotely.) And gargling isn’t easy. I held my mouth and did it like a duck bill, but since I couldn’t brush my teeth properly, I didn’t feel refreshed either… My face got puffier and puffier day by day lol
* Day 3 Do you know that when your face swells so much, your skin actually hurts? I’m managing the swelling by using ice packs constantly and loosening the compression bandage when needed I’m still taking cold medicine, and today my stomach hurt so badly that when I went to the bathroom, I had diarrhea… Maybe because I’ve only been eating dairy products for the past few days…. Still, I have to endure it!!! I still can’t sleep at night because of the pain…. When I lie down, my throat starts itching, and that’s when it really… ah, the pain begins. With tears in my eyes, as I breathe, phlegm goes back down along with my breathing, and I can’t even spit it out It’s just welcome to hell. And day 3 passed like that. After surgery, I sleep only about 2 hours? Or 1 hour? It feels like that. I can’t sleep deeply…
* Day 4 Today I also slept for almost two hours, woke up, watched TV the whole time, got hungry, ate chocolate milk, banana milk, and NewCare, then after about 30 minutes took my medicine, gargled, and lay back down… not even really lying down, more like sitting upright…. You have to do it like this for the swelling to go down faster. And before surgery, I was eating nonstop like I had binge eating disorder, eating until right before sleep, so my stomach had gotten ridiculously stretched, and now that I can’t eat, my stomach growls like ASMR… Today I still had the trio of lower tooth tightening, coughing, and phlegm, and there was just a tiny bit of blood. From today, I’ve been alternating cold compresses and warm compresses. My face is so swollen that my skin hurts… I hope it goes down soon.. In the evening I went out and walked, then walked some more. I even rode a bike hard lol I exercised hard too!!! (I thought I was going to collapse because I hadn’t eaten.)
* Day 5 Finally! Day 5! I’d been staying home too much, and I was going crazy from feeling trapped… so I went to the department store! With a mask on, I’m basically indistinguishable from a regular person lol The swelling has gone all the way down to around my mouth, so if you only look at my eyes, I look like I did before surgery. In the morning I went to a hair salon to wash my hair before heading out, and while I was there, the staff started asking what surgery I had and all kinds of things (I usually don’t like talking about cosmetic surgery). Since I didn’t want to answer, I said, “Huh? Oh~ this is just a lifting procedure,” and cut it off there, but they kept asking, so I just pretended not to hear them. (I wonder why they were so curious) Then I went to the department store, walked around here and there, looked around, shopped, and spent about 5 hours there. I got so hungry that I ordered Pol Basset matcha latte? The one with ice cream on top. It was “so damn good.” After drinking that, I was going to keep browsing, but suddenly I felt way too drained, so I said I couldn’t do it and got in the car and went home. My stamina just drops all of a sudden like that…. (Maybe because I hadn’t eaten.) When I got home, I took my medicine and completely passed out…
* Day 6 Today I really didn’t do much! I finally slept well! I went out and took a little walk with my dog, and ah!! I saw someone saying they soaked castella in milk and ate it, so I tried it too… but it wasn’t my style.. I threw it all away… I only eat NewCare To reduce swelling, I alternate warm and cold compresses, and this is no joke… you really have to be diligent… The cough, phlegm, and runny nose have gotten a lot better, but the cough is still really bad. I’m almost out of the medicine I was given too… I think I’ll need another prescription. Apparently surgery can really hurt your throat, and I think that’s true. Every time I speak, I can feel my vocal cords getting scratched… Still, the medicine helped a lot! If your throat hurts badly and you’re coughing up phlegm too, get medicine prescribed and take it!! They said it’s okay to take it together!!
* Day 7 Today I finally!!! Went to get the stitches removed from my sideburn area!! They say once the stitches come out, the swelling goes down faster, so I’m so excited!!! The staff really are all angels, so every time I go I feel good, they’re seriously so kind. I met the director too, and he said it looks really good, and I asked about the things I was curious about and got the sideburn stitches removed, and it didn’t hurt at all!!! Today I’m only coughing, and the runny nose and phlegm are a lot better! The swelling is going down so much it’s honestly amazing!
While looking through reviews, I wondered why there were barely any after day 7, and now I know why… after that, every day is just the same lol There’s nothing to write… Until day 14, I still had blood in my phlegm, and the gum stitches really, really, really hurt^_^ But other than that, I just kept thinking, once this is gone, I’m done, and endured it while tearing at a plush toy’s head! Just hold on for about 5 minutes, everyone ❤️ Do you think becoming pretty is easy?
By day 16, a lot of the swelling has gone down, and I still can’t open my mouth very wide, but I can brush my teeth well with a baby toothbrush, and soft foods like bananas are totally possible~!
Before surgery, I was eating like I had full-on binge eating disorder. Since I thought that after surgery I wouldn’t be able to eat anymore, I ate so much that I even went looking for foods I’d never even wanted to eat before lol So I had gained some weight, but after surgery, when I stepped on the scale today, I was down 8 kg;;; But I intentionally did water fasting and didn’t eat to lose weight. If I was really hungry, maybe I’d have one soy milk? That kind of amount. I think that’s why the swelling went down so fast and I lost so much weight too! If you can eat whatever you want after surgery, wouldn’t it just stay the same?
Anyway, time passed so fast, and I want all the swelling to go down already, put on makeup, and meet my friends ❤️ I hope my review helps!! Bye!!!!!
