After facial contouring and forehead reduction, the middle third of my face looked long, so I had a medial philtrum reduction. I decided on this place after doing a huge amount of online digging on XX Talk, Naver Cafes, and so on. Actually, I wasn’t too worried about scarring, because my skin is very thin and I go to the dermatologist every week. What I worried about most was nostril distortion. After surgery, my nostrils flared out like an ape’s. Once the stitches were removed, the swelling went down quickly, but I felt like my nostrils were still slightly flared, so I had nostril reduction revision surgery. Come to think of it, after the philtrum reduction, my upper lip lifted a little, so my lips became fuller!! The doctor said that while doing the surgery, they also brought out the philtrum groove line (the C-curve line) a bit. So I think the added volume in my philtrum made it feel like my nostrils were flaring out. The post-op photo is the one after the nostril reduction revision. For the month between the philtrum reduction and the nostril reduction revision, I was depressed. That was all I felt. Now I’m very satisfied (the overall volume of my face, the younger-looking feeling) and my lips have more volume too, so my whole vibe changed a lot. I don’t know about other hospitals because I didn’t consult them, but the doctor has a strong pride in their surgery, so that gave me a reassuring feeling that they would make it pretty. The consultation manager, front desk staff, and nurses were moderately kind. (One of the front desk staff was extremely kind!!) I don’t regret getting philtrum reduction surgery. Honestly, I’m really satisfied!!! The doctor was already famous for lips and philtrum back when they were at ㅇㅇㅊㅂ, But for people with thick skin or those worried about nostril distortion, I want them to think carefully before deciding on philtrum reduction.
